Chance me for Brown, Columbia, Macalester, and Oberlin?

Hi! OK, so here's my info:

I'm a white male from rural Georgia.
Family makes less than 50k a year.

My GPA is 4.6 weighted, 3.9 unweighted.
I am third in a class of 250.

SAT -
CR - 780
Math - 670
Writing - 790
Combined score - 2250

SAT II -
Literature - 770
US History - 760

AP tests -
Human Geography (freshman year) - 4
US History (sophomore year) - 4
US Government (junior year) - 5
English Language (junior year) - 5
Statistics (senior year) - pending (I am expecting at 3...not a math person)
English Literature (senior year) - pending (I am expecting a 4 or 5)
Environmental Science (senior year) - pending (I am expecting a 4 or 5)

Here are my ECs -
I'm editor of the yearbook, president of Gavel Club (a public speaking organization based off of Toastmasters International), founder and president of the Politically Active Students organization, president of the National English Honor Society, secretary of National Honor Society, and an intern at the local library. I also hold a part-time job as a barista.

As founder and president of Politically Active Students, we discussed local (and national) politics and later endorsed our local Democratic candidate via a newsletter that is funded and produced by the club.

I have also had poems, personal essays, and humorous articles published by a variety of literary magazines.

Awards -
I was selected to participate in the Georgia Governor's Honors Program in the field of Communicative Arts; I'm an AP Scholar with Distinction; I won a Scholastic Art and Writing Silver Key in poetry for my region; I was named the recipient of a full scholarship by CNN to attend the Georgia Journalism Academy.

To sum it up -
I want to double major in English/Creative Writing and International Affairs (or Relations) -- I want to eventually work in international relations, especially global health.

I'm also gay, if that helps?

Chance me for Brown, Columbia, Macalester, and Oberlin? :)

What’s your GPA? I’m sure you have a great shot at Oberlin and Mac, my first and second choices. You can probably do better as far as LACs go, if you want, though many of the deadlines have passed for top schools.

It’s not really worth asking for chances on Ivies and such. No one can really tell you more than you can’t figure out by looking at the average stats and such.

I’m not familiar with Macalester or Oberlin, but you have a good chance of getting into Brown and Columbia. Your SAT scores are pretty good and you have a lot of ECs. What is your gpa?

Chances are pretty good. You are set with almost every aspect… now, it is up to your writing!

Macalester and Oberlin, in! (i think…)

Columbia and Brown… impress them!

Good Luck! Maybe i’ll see you at Columbia next year…?

You sound unique enough that they all may have interest in your application. Good luck!

You sound like a great fit for Oberlin. It would be a wonderful school for you.

Macalester - In
Oberlin - In
Brown - Reach
Columbia - Reach

I think you have an incredible shot at all of these schools. The only thing that will negatively affect your application is the 670 math. Despite your mediocre math score, your writing abilities are strong enough to make up for it. The background (having a low-income and being gay in the South) only adds to your application. I’m gay myself; how do you survive out there? I can only imagine, though that sadly I can’t think it’s not a whole lot better where I am now :/

Good luck! Chance me back?
