Hi I am a sophmore. I am worried about my chances of making it
into a good BS/MD program. Here is my HS info:

Right now im taking:

Spanish 3
AP US history
English 2
PreCal
Chem 1
Two medical electives

I ended up with a c in US hist and i already had a c in Alg.2
last year. Does this completely ruin my chances of getting an
interview? Any advice appreciated.

right now, it seems like ure taking pretty advanced courses- most dont take precalc until junior or senior year, and its good ure taking an AP sophmore year- your work load seems pretty heavy, which is great!
as for the c's, colleges and programs love students who steadily improve. As long you show improvement, they will be happy.

I am so glad that I didn't completely ruin my chances.
Here are my EC's :

taking two medical electives
volunteer at a Children's hospital
Placed at HOSA area and going to state for another event
Orchestra for all HS years(some awards)
Doing AIDS research project this summer
Have many Red Cross hours
Started Volunteering club in community

Took the SAT today and awaiting results.

Will be taking AP tests for World and US History
Will be taking about 8-9 AP classes in HS

I am also applying for my Medical Academy's Internship which is through school and in Junior and Senior year.

What schools am I better suited for based on above info??

Can some one please let me know if any one ever got interviews with a C or 2 on their records?? I am still having a hard time dealing with it... ;-(

I aim to get a good score on AP to hope compensate...

Its your overall GPA and class rank(if available) that would be important, not an individual grade or two. High AP scores are a good thing to have but are mainly used for placement purposes. Do well on the SAT/SAT2s/ACT and continue to try your best in your classes & medical extracurriculars. Well written & well thought out essays bring everything together to show your interest in medicine. Good Luck!
