Chance me for Business Schools? NYU...

So I am a Junior looking to major in either accounting or finance depending on which schools I am accepted to. My short list of schools right now includes NYU, U Mich, BC, BU, Penn Sate, ... please make any suggestions of schools that would help me whether it be a good reach, match or safety, Thanks so here are the stats

SAT 1990- 670 math 670 reading 650 writing (I feel confident at least a 2100-2200 is possible)

GPA- 3.8 weighted should be 3.9 or 4.0 by the end of this year, I think it is a 3.6-3.6 uw

took sat subject for math I and chem, as well as AP chem test, no scores yet
N
ext year- AP Micro, Ap Calc, Ap Euro, Ap stat, Hon Engl, Hon Band, Hon Physics

ECs- Marching Band4 yrs (section Leader), Jazz band 3 yrs, Key club, FBLA, Volleyball team 3 years, Travel soccer for many years, robotics, SGO, NHS treasurer, Nat German Honors society... Work as summer temp at Bessemer trust (privately owned investment bank) plus hobbies that dont really count..

White Male, from NJ, Wouldnt qualify for financial aid

How much is my GPA hurting me? Please make any suggestions of schools that are good business schools that might be within my range (obviously not UPenn haha)

:( please???

Your GPA isnt hurting you, but your SAT score certainly is. Most good b schools like to see high math SAT scores 770+ Reading 700+ and they could care less about writing. Regardless
PSU- Match
BU- Match
NYU Stern- Reach
U Mich-Reach/Match (depending on if your school is a “feeder”)
BC- Reach

thanks, I will most definitely be working on that score. Does anyone know of something that can help you stand out in the applicant pool? any cool experiences or organizations that I can join that would be beneficial to me in more than just getting me accepted? I did an exploratory engineering camp at Steves institute for engineering but now I am confident with business and would like to possibly try a program that might help me solidify a major?

get that sat up about 150 points in math and reading and you might bring stern to a low reach

For most of your schools your GPA is average, you best bet will be to get those SATs up into the 2100+ super-score range (a 3.7/2150 would be a lot more comfortable position). I can’t think of a EC or camp that would be a big tipping point for B-Schools. About the only thing that might jump out is if you were to pick up some college courses this summer. There are a number of programs around the country that offer rising high school seniors the chance at earning college level credits (maybe Econ or Calc?).

My guesses:

PSU- Safety/Match
BU - Safety/Match
NYU - Match/Reach
Michigan - Match/Reach for admissions, Big Reach for pre-admit Ross BSchool
BC - Reach

Other Ideas:

IndianaU (Bloomington) - Kelley School highly regarded and you might make pre-admit
Northeastern (Boston) - Great co-op program
USC - A reach but has strong southern California presence

You are full pay, that may be to your advantage for an OOS student these days, money does talk, so it could help. :)

Excellent chances at BU and PSU. Reach UM, BC and NYU. Fordham and Villanova might be worth a look. Best of luck!
