I have a 3.98 GPA, and I am the 21st out of 144 students in my class. I’ve taken AP Environmental (4), AP US History (5), AP Language (5), and am in the process of taking Calculus AB, AP Bio, AP Art History, and AP Literature. I have taken / am taking every AP at my school excepting AP Spanish, if that helps.
My extracurriculars aren’t great; I’ve been involved in my school’s environmental club for two years, and this year I am the president. I am also involved in my school’s LGBT club.
I’ve taken the SAT twice; the first time I got a 1430 (650 Math, 780 Language). The second time I got a 1440 (680 Math, 760 Language). The CSU will allow me to superscore, giving me a 1460, but the UC’s will not. I also got an 18 on my SAT essay.
I intend to major in environmental science.
What are my chances for CalPoly SLO, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz? Thank you!!
Is your 3.98 GPA, your UC GPA? Cal Poly SLO uses the UC GPA calculation (capped weighted with 8 semesters of honors points) but includes 9-11th grades instead of the 10-11th grades.

Please post capped weighted UC GPA and Cal Poly GPA. Also I would add UC Davis to your list if you are interested in Environmental Science. For SLO, which Environmental major are you applying? Acceptance rates vary.
-Environmental Earth & Soil Sciences
-Environmental Management & Protection
-Forestry & Natural Resources
My UC GPA is 4.05, and my CSU GPA is 3.97. I intend to major in Environmental Management and Protection. Thanks!
SLO: Match
UCSC: Low Match almost Safety
UCSB: Match-High Match
Best of luck.
for most people, their CSU GPA=UC GPA so, you may want to recalculate.
I think you’ll get into UCSC but, the others could go either way. While you have time, i’d suggest you also apply to UCR, SDSU and CPP, all of whom are very likely to accept you.
SLO Environmental Science and Management has around a 42% acceptance rate in the past. OP your GPA is on target and SAT score above the average for the College of Ag and Env Science so that is why I called it a Match.
