I think your GPA is low but you still have a shot of getting in. I don’t get the whole pie thing…

Let me guess, you go to Stuy or Bronx Sci?

Those are good grades, esp AP scores. Should be good. Especially Biomedical Engineering. You should apply as a different major though, like MechE or ChemE. You can’t do BME by itself. Then again, I’ve seen undecided CIT get in, so your choice.

Erm, what do you have that differentiates yourself from other applicants?

^ this. I’d say it comes down to the essay with your application - your app is impressive yet boring. What will your essay topic be? Will your recs be colorful and interesting rather than “John is cool because he is a hard worker”? If so, then you should have a very good shot at getting in.

I considered reading this post in order to get free pie.

I then realized the logistical issues preventing me from getting pie out of this, so I did not chance you.

Seriously though, you have a chance. You are on the level of many other applicants, but it doesn’t seem like you have a whole lot of EC’s like another poster mentioned. The research and competitions you did during the summer seem interesting though. Show that You were committed to that on your application. All in all, I would say it is a reach, but not a very unrealistic reach.
