86 views, yet no replies? O_O

I'll be the first to help :) But I'm gonna go brutal:

I'm pretty sure you already understand that your GPA is on the lower side, especially with those "C"s. Your ECs are on the weaker side, in that you do not have many board positions in the numerous groups you did participate in. I think the reason people didn't respond to your post is because the grade format is all confusing to understand (my school does not use the + and - system).

Verdict:
UCB= if you are from Cali, then slight reach. if not, it's gonna be hard mostly bc you're asian
UCLA is a slight reach and the others are probably shoo-ins
Cornell and Carnegie are going to be real tough, sorry to say. Good luck anyway!

Haha, I am aware of my low GPA. Do both Cornell and Carnegie Mellon take into consideration my freshman year grades? I seriously has no idea what I was doing (laziness + apathy). Both schools look at senior grades right? I currently only have one B+ in AP Gov, and I plan to get a 4.0 UW this semester (4.6 W).

My lack of extracirriculars can be accounted for several reasons (which I will explain in the additional comments if space allows). First off, my mom didn't know how to drive on the freeway (and she still doesn't... XD), which blocked off access to many opportunities. Second, when I first moved back to the US in 8th grade, our family was in a constant search for a house, making my weekends full with open houses. So even though the lack of strong ECs can be attributed to my initial apathy and lack of leadership quality, there are some other factors. Thanks though!

good point, probably not. That would help your GPA greatly.

Anyone else?
