Recommendations: great I know the teachers very well and have known them both since sophmore year even though they taught me junior year.</p>
<p>Your GPA and ACT scores are on track, I’d say ACT scores are above Cornell’s norm actually. Class rank is also pretty high. </p>
<p>Though I’m guessing your EC’s will pull you through. I’m not so sure about Odyssey of the mind, but if you went to WORLD finals, that’s darn good. Academic team and literature club successes are also big pluses.</p>
<p>Perhaps someone can back me up, but I’d also suggest sending your app to other (possibly higher) colleges if that Odyssey thing is as big as I’m thinking iti s.</p>

<p>Not to be a spoilsport or anything, but Odyssey of the Mind “World Finals” is basically National finals with a couple of international teams. First you have qualifying within your region, then state, the world’s. Still, not that it’s not a great achievement.</p>
<p>Thanks for all of your feedback! I realize that World Finals of Odyssey of the Mind isn’t a HUGE deal, but it is fairly difficult to attain and required a lot of work.</p>
<p>The hotel school puts a huge emphasis on social skills, so you need to prove to them that you not only have the grades and scores (which you do), but that you are a social teenager.</p>
