Chance me for CMU, MIT, Georgia Tech, etc.

I'm a white male applying as a Computer Science major, here are my scores and stuff.

SAT I (I've taken it twice, so both scores shown)
Math: 790/770
CR: 670/800
WR: 700/720

SAT II's
MathII: 800
Physics: 790
US History: 780

ACT: 33 (probably will just submit SAT)

AP's
AP World History: 4 (At least I think, I had to figure it out through my teacher, the phone database didn't know my info, I might've messed up my info on the answer sheet or something, I probably won't use this, anyway)
Calculus BC: 5 (5 AB Subscore)
Computer Science A: 5
US History: 5
Physics B: 5

AP Classes this year:
Chemistry
US Government and Politics
Music Theory
English Literature and Composition
Spanish Language

Unweighted/weighted GPA (as of end of junior year): 3.95/4.167 (all A's except B's in both semesters of AP World History)

Class Rank: 17/509

Extracurriculars (I moved the summer before junior year, which is why there's a split):
Varsity Golf (9th-10th grade)
Playing Guitar for Church (9th-10th grade)
Played guitar for a high school production of Hairspray in 10th grade.
Math and ACT Tutor (11th-12th grade)
Worked over the summer before 12th grade.
Hobbyist Programmer (C++, Java, LUA; messed around with OGRE, Havok, and some other stuff to make PC games though I haven't actually finished a game yet, kind of messing around/learning) 9th-12th grade.

As far as awards, I got an AP Scholar with Honor award, but nothing too exciting.

I do well in school and I'm pretty nice, so my recommendations should be pretty good.

I'm American but I've lived overseas for most of my life (I moved back to the U.S. the summer before my junior year) if that counts for any kind of diversity thing.

Colleges applying to in no particular order (it's a long list, I want to make sure I get in somewhere).

Carnegie Mellon University (Early Decision)
MIT
Stanford
Berkeley
Georgia Tech
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Brown/Princeton/Harvard/Cornell/UPenn/Yale (my parents want me to apply to like every Ivy, lol)
Caltech
Johns Hopkins
UChicago
Rensselaer Polytech
Worcester Polytech
Villanova
Penn State

Thanks for any replies and sorry for any typos.

I know it’s a long list, but chances for any of the schools listed would be appreciated (especially CMU, since that’s my top choice). And I’m not a state resident of any of the state schools I’m applying to if that helps.

CMU ED: High match
MIT: Reach
Stanford: Reach
Berkeley: Match
GA Tech: Low match
UIUC: Low match/Match
RPI: Safety
WPI: Safety
Villanova: Low match
Penn State: Safety
U Chicago: Reach (pay attention to the prompts)
JHU: High match
Caltech: Reach
Brown: Reach
Princeton: Reach
Harvard: Reach
Yale: Reach
Cornell: Reach
UPenn: Reach

Thanks for the reply. Are UChicago’s essay prompts unusual or something?

They’re out there.

You should probably specify which school at CMU you are applying to, I have seen there computer science school compared to MIT and its ranked #1 in several articles on schools for people studying CS, while there colleges for arts and sciences are no where near as competitive to get into I hear.

Thanks for the link thekeyofgb, I probably should’ve looked it up, ha ha.

I’m applying as a Computer Science major to all the colleges I listed. You’re right, CMU’s School of Computer Science is real competitive (I think last year’s acceptance rate was only like 7-ish%), I’m applying ED and hoping for the best.

I just re-read my post and realized it sounded like I was chiding you for not looking the prompts up! I meant that they’re nontraditional and take some real thought to even answer, much more to do so well.

No worries, thanks for the feedback.

Anyone else?
