Thanks in advance

Your extracurriculars are very nice, so you’ll have a good shot at your reaches so long as you get your scores up to par. Getting your SAT over 2250 is important, and you should really aim for your subject test scores to all be 750+. 700 and 720 are both on the low side.

You are in a super competitive pool for admissions at top schools. I would consider applying to one ED. Cornell looks like a good choice.

I pretty much agree with the 2 posters above… Raise your SAT score, and aim for 750+ on subject tests… Other than that, your gpa is fine, and your EC’s are pretty strong. (If anything, maybe you needed for science related EC’s for MIT, but overall, I think you’re fine)

And I also agree with Waverly, you should consider applying ED somewhere…

Good luck!

Thanks for chancing guys! can you give me a list of which schools will be safeties, low reaches, mid reaches, and high reaches? Thanks!

Lol, first off… I meant more instead of for in my last post. lmao, whoops.

CMU: Low reach
Stanford: mid-high reach (is for everyone)
Princeton: same as Stanford
UC Berkeley: I don’t really know too much about California schools except Stanford and Caltech, so take this with a grain of salt… High match to low reach?
Cornell: Low reach
UCLA: same as Berkeley
Santa Clara: Safety
USC: Match

I may be dead wrong about Berkeley, UCLA, Santa Clara and USC… I’m not too familiar with them at all /: Sorry /:

thanks! anyone else? bump bump!

1.CMU - Low reach
2. Stanford - Mid-High Reach
3. MIT - Mid-High Reach
4. Princeton - Mid-High Reach
5. UC Berkeley - Low-Mid Reach
6. Cornell - Low-Mid Reach
7. UCLA - Match
8. Santa Clara University - Safety
9. USC - Match

I’d Early Decision to one of these schools, like one of the earlier posts said, but Cornell lacks an overflowing prestige. It has a good CS program, but there are quite a few better. I believe he said that because you have the best chances to get in there rather than EDing to an an elite (which is very unpredictable).

I would ED to Stanford or MIT because you have impressive ED.

I’m probably going to apply ED to CMU because that is my dream school - and they only guarantee meeting 100% need to EDers.

Thanks so much for chancing me guys!

No problem! And good luck with ED at CMU! :)

Good choice, but CMU is highly unlikely to give you a dime in need based aid at your income level.

Really? Thats kind of shocking to know because I thought they said they meet 100% of need if you apply ED. Our EFC is around 16k (federal methodology), and we don’t own a home or have any other assets or investments… almost half of the income goes to taxes. … Wouldn’t this have an impact on need based aid?

If that’s what was estimated for, then that’s probably it… But I just thought your EFC would be alot higher…

Actually, I made a mistake in my post, I just double checked - my EFC is 10k through federal methodology. I calculated this using the collegeboard’s estimator, and got the information from my parents. I’m pretty sure its accurate.
