I noticed I posted in the wrong section before. Chance me now instead? THANKS!

ExtraCurricular Commonapp - Robotics community & what I've learned from them
Supplements - honest and intriguing

Teacher Recommendation: One knows me very well as a person while one knows me very well as a student. Should both be wonderful writers. 10+/10

Counselor Rec: Should be okay? I don't really know. I know my counselor but have heard that they're not much of a writer.

Additional Rec: Possibly the Stanford professor I worked with or my boss with the interesting insight into my "entrepreneurial ability" (haven't decided)

State (if domestic applicant): CA
School Type:Public
Ethnicity:Asian
Gender:Female
Income Bracket:100k

Reflection
Strengths: I think my supplements will be very "interesting" and honest as I am what my friends consider "strangely unique" when it comes to personality and writing style.
Weaknesses: Average asian, okay test scores and grades. Interested in engineering (but a girl), plays piano.

Thanks again!

Strengths: Research, extracurriculars are good, girl.
Weaknesses: Asian, lack of standing out in any particular extracurricular, GPA/test scores aren’t perfect.

Reaches UC Berkeley EECS, Columbia Engineering, CMU CS, Princeton, Stanford, MIT. Low reach/high match for Cornell, USC, UMich. (Just drop UMich… you’re not poor, you’re not a minority, and you’re out of state… so you’ll probably have to pay a ton.) In at the UC’s.

Good luck!

Chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1206132-chance-us-junior-ucambridge-maths.html

weakness: asian. Really?

Well that’s what everyone has said

Just to add,
my weighted GPA is 4.39. If I get all A’s this semester, it’ll go up to 4.5.

I’m also taking Stanford’s free online AI class this year.

Girl Interested in engineering (STEM) is a plus.

Yes, being an Asian is a weakness in elite college admission.

I’d say that your strengths are, as some other peopled mentioned, that you’re a female interested in science, and your ECs show dedication and there are some very good ones like the research and work experience. I think that’s where you really stand out, because unfortunately, the bar for Asians is set pretty high. You should play that to your advantage through your resume. I’d say that you have a good chance of getting into UCSD, UCDavis, and probably UCLA and UCB too, as well as UMich and USC. MIT, Cornell, and Columbia are mid reaches, and Princeton and Stanford are luck of the draw for just about anyone, but I think you could at least apply and be competitive. Good luck!

strengths are gpa, ecs and research. maybe pick a focus on your main ecs? that might help.
