I am currently taking AP Calc BC, AP environmental science, AP English lit, and AP Spanish Lit

Extracurriculars:
Band: (9-12) I've had numerous awards and leadership positions in band. It's my main extracurricular
NHS: (10-12) Probably have about 60+ volunteering hours over the past two years

I'm planning on applying to civil engineering. Is that an easier major to be accepted into? Also, what should my second choice school be? Should it be CNS or does it matter?

I should add that I’m in-state at a pretty rigorous public high school and that I am a white male

From an engineering major perspective, taking AP physics or AP chemistry is a much better academic qualification and approach than environmental science, IMO, unless your HS does not offer these courses. If your HS dose offer, it may show some weakness in your application. That’s good at least you are taking Calc BC and doing very well in that class will enhance your chance for Cockrell. Good luck!

I think, in your case, it probably matters what you choose as your second school/college… Are you interested in STEM majors only? Have you considered the College of Liberal Arts or McCombs?

Well, I originally wanted to apply to mccombs so that’s why I didn’t sign up for ap physics, because otherwise I would have. I’ve also read it’s not a good idea to apply both mccombs and cockrell since those are the harder schools. And what does STEM stand for? I’m pretty adamant on doing civil engineering for the most part

I think you should be in
