@VANDEMORY1342 yes, white/asian I was thinking of doing EA to as many as possible because Georgetown is my top, but it does not do ED
@stressedmhs
You EC’s are lackluster.
So I would EA ( not SCEA just EA) all the schools on your list that offer it( I think GTown, GW, and maybe American I’m not sure) . Then ED at UPenn, then ED2 at Emory. This gives you the best chances as again you application is unbalanced with High stats and boring EC’s.
Oh and I think the other posters thought you were a different ethnic mix as they gave you predictions indicative of a hooked applicant, which you are not.
@stressedmhs Oh I understand, then perhaps colleges will understand why you don’t have that many APs on your transcript. I’m not sure you will have to explicitly state this or if your high school’s school profile will be able to let them know your situation. And like I said, world traveling may not exactly be an EC perhaps, but you should definitely include it in your essays and use it to explain how you would like to study international relations. This would be a very interesting topic!
Brown UPenn Georgetown Johns Hopkins Emory GW American
ACT 35 GPA 3.7 uw 4.12 w TOP 10% Took 3 SAT subject tests no results yet, 5 APs by graduation
Student Government, Student Council, Section Leader, Band Officer, NHS President, Varsity Tennis, Lots of comm service (will go in depth on EC’s on common app, just trying to save you guys time)
World Traveler - Speaks Swedish, Finnish, German, Chinese (and English)
Good recs, I know my reccers very very well (like even outside of school)
Biracial Male - nothing special
@stressedmhs Out of the schools in D.C that you have mentioned Georgetown would be my first choice and it looks like it’s your first choice too. It’s in an amazing location (right on the water and the neighborhood of Georgetown is definitely one of the best in D.C) and it has one of the best International Relations programs in the country. Plus, the campus is gorgeous (looks like Hogwarts!). Between the other two, I would select American. It’s a really good school with a great International Relations program. American is definitely an up and coming type of school. The campus is really nice and it’s right by the metro so you can get anywhere you want in D.C. It is in Tenleytown, however, which is a pretty boring neighborhood. GW is a great school as well. I don’t know as much about it, but it is located right in the heart of the city (a couple blocks from the White House). The campus is very integrated into the city (not sure if this is a good or a bad thing for you). Overall, they are all very great schools, it’s all about personal preference. Good luck.
