Hi so this is my first post on this site, but ive been reading a lot, hence my username lol

So here goes, chance me and I'll chance you back, i have a lot of experience on this site to make good estimates:

Unweighted GPA: 92% (dont know in 4.0) Weighted: around 105-106
SAT: Math: 750 CR: 690 Writing: 750
Subjects: US history: 720 Math 2: 750

-jobs

am I too naiive? anything im lacking, to prepare for RD?

thanks!

Lurker, as you know from being a lurker and I know from being a stalker… You just never know with Columbia. The good news is that we will all know in a month. Good luck to u

Any awards worth mentioning?

But anyway, I’d say you have a good shot! Our objective statistics (GPA, SAT scores) are quite similar. Good luck, lurker123!

thanks guys, but i doubt it
i have mediocre grades and no tangible leadership positions! lol

If your recs are indeed awesome, don’t underestimate their power! You never know what might happen :)

Everything sounds pretty good except class rank

how is your school’s reputation? that has a huge influence on if you get in. Being number 2 at a school that sends a kid to an Ivy or psuedo-Ivy once every few years could kill you. But being number 18 at a school which sends 30 kids to Ivies every year isn’t a big deal.

yep, only two or three to the ivies a year. 40% go to 4 year colleges each year -__-

what do you think would be ideal by january? the deadline for RD
thanks

Your translation works sounds interesting, and is not something that many others will have on their resume.
