First generation college generally means first generation to go to college anywhere. THAT can be a plus.

You have a decent shot! But I will say that your GPA really is your biggest downfall in this. I mean your grades an enormous deal when it comes to your application, and much more than scores and anything else. BUT! No hope should be lost in this, because you have an upward trend in your grades and everything else is solid. Just hope that your essays are good TO the admissions readers. And I’m also hoping that you took the most rigorous courses available at your school… And don’t forget, Ivy-League standard schools’ admissions are incredibly random. Best of luck!

Conclusion: Low Reach

know someone with those stats get in so you have a high chance

My older brother (we are also middle eastern) got into the hotel school with the same SAT score and, for the most part, AP scores as you. The one main difference is the GPA (both weighted and unweighted). I’d say a reach/high reach.

The pivot point will be your essays. Your stats seem generic, other than your origin.

Cornell would be a super high reach for you… Maybe try an Emory level college! Cornell is very statistics based. Good luck!

Assuming your first semester senior year grades are better, I think you’d have a shot. Not a great one, since it’s still Cornell. But one really bad freshman year is forgiveable imo. It boils down to your essays and recs
