My top choice is Dartmouth. I am planning to do early decision
i know the scores are low but my essays are awesome

What are my chances?

I would suggest that you focus on SAT-optional schools, such as Bates and Bowdoin. Bowdoin is a good choice for someone who likes Dartmouth, and they do have ED.

BTW, do you have any AP scores at this point?

Dartmouth Freshman test scores Class of '15.

[Testing Statistics](http://www.dartmouth.edu/admissions/facts/test-stats.html)

Yes, your scores are pretty low and your GPA is low as well. However, you have great activities! Dartmouth’s acceptance rates are below 9% for both RD and ED–don’t be fooled by the numbers it gives. The higher acceptance rates for ED are a result of all of the people that apply who were recruited for sports and almost always are accepted.

I’m not gonna lie–a 650 on your US history SAT II is nothing special. What grade did you get in APUSH? If your APUSH teacher is writing you a req but you only got a 650 on the subject test, that doesn’t really speak highly of your abilities.

Also, disregard your weighted GPA, because it tells you nothing. Colleges don’t even look at your weighted GPA anyways.

I’d say you have an about average chance of getting into Dartmouth. Below average test scores/transcript doesn’t help, but hopefully your amazing activities and really good essays will help you stand out.
