Wanna know what my chances are since I'm very nervous about Duke

I have a 95.7 unweighted average with a weighted average of 99.1
this lets me graduate with summa cum lade (98+ weighted) only like 15-20 people for heaviest years.
I'm in the full IB diploma so my schedule stays extremely difficult (only AP I'm taking senior year is AP Calc BC and rest is IB classes)

33 composite on my ACT,31 english, 35 math, 34 science, 33 reading

I play 2 varsity sports, captain on 1 (3 years for that) and 2 years for the other. In addition I have summer and fall teams that take up another 8-10 hours a week.

Have had a summer job 2 years, worked in 2 springs as an umpire until sports didnt allow me to anymore, work with an organization that helps disabled children play baseball for 4 years-- a lot of my supplements will include this and briefly mentioned in my common app essay and its had a big imprint on me that I am trying to convey in my essays.

I'm a member of a few clubs, but no real leadership positions and often i cannot make meetings for that as i have sports that just conflict too much being 20 hours a week.

Member of NHS and foreign national honor society for spanish

My common app essay was about a condition that I was born with that occurs in 1 in 18,000 kids and how its really changed my outlook on life and a lot of things--- i had to make sure that it didn't sound like a sob story, because it wasn't at all just a real life changing thing for me as i got older (i think that could be something really interesting)

recommendations are good from both teachers, won awards in both classes

won book award for RPI (only top 10% can win, but we dont rank officially)

I think that duke is a low reach only because of your lack of leadership positions. Duke highly values talented writers, so as long as your essays are solid, I think you’ll be fine. The 30% admission rate for Duke ED won’t hurt either.

You seem like you are an interesting applicant. Your academics are on par with Duke and you seem like you have average ECs for Duke applicants. But none of you ECs stand out too much. If your essays and letters of rec are solid then you should have a solid shot. I would say it is a low reach. Good luck! I hope to see you at Duke next year!

I think your chances are high and that you have a better chance of getting in than not. However, Duke is highly highly competative. ED will help, their acceptance rate is higher then. Your IB’s are impressive and that will stand out. You definitely have a unique catch with your disease, as long as it isn’t a sob story. A lack of leadership in clubs is okay because you have had jobs and are leading/playing two varsity sports. So don’t worry! Overall you should get in and best of luck!

No other AP courses during your time in HS? My daughter took a few other AP exams along with her full IB diploma curriculum (AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Calc)

your test scores and leadership are a little low, but overall a good profile! I definitely think you have a shot ED since the admit rate is higher. good luck!
