I’m a senior trying to figure out what schools to apply to. Please chance me for my reaches and matches: UVA, Duke, UChicago, UNC, Boston University, UCLA, UC San Diego, UMichigan, VTech. Thanks!

Not an admissions expert here, so take this with a grain of salt. I think you have a good chance based on your stats & your focused ECs. Correct me if I am wrong, but if you are OOS for UVA, even with high credentials it’s a lot harder to get in generally due to the amount of in-state students they must admit. However, I’ll say that even with your high test scores, the schools you have listed have relatively low acceptance rates so I’d advise you to add matches/safeties with higher acceptance rates (consider 40-50% +). Also, as a tip, to get a better sense of how your scores translate to the 2400 scale you should use the SAT score converters and concordance tables, especially to enhance your grouping of schools into safety, match and reach.

Adding to bry463, UNC-Chapel Hill is also hard to get into as an OOS since it’s a public school. You’re a solid candidate nonetheless.
