good chances :)

You’re basically asking us if the perfect student can get into Cornell. If you don’t get in, I don’t think I will either. Also, how are you URM if you are a caucasian male?

What is your senior year schedule? Also, here are my three wishes :stuck_out_tongue:
1st wish: check and comment on my chance me thread titled “Chance Me :)”
2nd wish: get my accepted into CoE ED
3rd wish: buy me a pint of coconut flavored ice cream

i’d say Cornell is a mid-reach…good luck though

^lol he/she says cornell is a mid-reach.

As long as you write a good essay, you are in. Especially COE

^lol he/she says you are in

The whole process is a crapshoot…you never know what’s going to happen

Ooh, looks good, my friend. Really good scores, good EC’s and hook. You’ll likely get in, if your supplementary essays are good enough (tough to get into COE unless supp app is good, from what I heard). The whole process is a lottery system, so no one really knows, but your app looks good :)

yellowsnowman not claiming URM status that was just an example of a hook that the template gave. your wishes shall be granted to the best of my ability lol

Ohh alright haha. Thanks :P

^^^ It is not a lottery system, applications go through a committee and are reviewed exhaustively. Don’t try and scare qualified students into thinking that their applications are as predictable as a flip of a coin when they are not.

I realize I forgot to post a response to your chance thread!

  1. GPA + Scores are good; your stats are very competitive.
  2. ECs are engineering-oriented
  3. Class rank: This may or may not be important at your school depending on how many students are selected by top tier universities.
In summation, I believe that Cornell is a close match, provided your essays are not bad.

^I agree. Your SAT and ACT are absolutely amazing!

I forgot to tell you my 3 wishes:

  1. Live a happy and long life with “the one” (sorry if this seems completely random)
  2. Become a successful pediatrician
  3. Get a good education-get into med school eventually and get into one of the schools I’m applying to this year!

There is only one scenario that would lead to a rejection: Cornell thinks that you could get into Princeton or Harvard. They are nice and decide to reject you so that you can apply elsewhere and succeed in getting admitted to a better (although there are few options above Cornell ;)) college.

I find this thread walking a thin line between ridiculous and absolutely ridiculous. Start buying the Big Red sweatshirt because you’re in. Friend of mine got in last year, ED to COE. Want his stats?
2020 on SAT I, 710 on Physics SAT II, 730 on Math I and 640 on bio, 3.9 gpa rank 5/300. and thats it, no real ECs…oh and he was asian american. i dont know if its the norm but even if he had great recss/essays you surpass his stats. and he applied from nj public school.

This is a joke all of you saying that it’s a lottery and that Cornell is a mid-reach and that it’s a lottery system; you have excellent stats and you’re so well-rounded. Unless you like killed someone or came off as really boring in your essays, I think you’re basically in.

blee, don’t regret your ED decision though! If you want to study engineering at an Ivy, Cornell is the best option.

yeah i definitely don’t regret applying ED, Cornell is definitely where I want to be, I am not a city person

You are definitely in.
