Colleges:

Trying to figure out where I want to ED to and it’s between Cornell, Columbia, Brown, & Penn.

If any of you guys have schools I should apply to for EA or RD, please let me know

I applied ED to Cornell this year and got deferred. Just going off of acceptance rate alone if you are set on an ivy, Cornell and Brown have the higher acceptance rates. I did not have an SAT score submitted and I know that even though they are test-optional it is a plus. My academic profile is similar to yours (maybe a little stronger because of five languages and a dual high school diploma) but your ECs are very impressive. I had similar awards. It also depends on if you’re applying for aid.

I’m applying for aid but I’m not international and AFAIK Cornell is need-blind.
Edit: Also I saw that you were planning to major in Economics, did you by any chance apply to Dyson? That may be why you got deferred.

I did not apply to Dyson.

I hope you get into Tufts ED II.
Good luck : )

Bump

Which college within Cornell? Each division admits separately. Looks like there are potential related majors within 3 of the colleges:

College of Arts & Sciences
College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
College of Engineering

Likely college of engineering.
If not, then arts & science.

Engineering has a much lower acceptance rate for males vs females. For CAS its about the same.

Are you from an underrepresented ethnic/minority group? If so that could help even more. If you are a NY state resident then CALS would be the best choice.

I am a NY State resident?
Why does CALS help for NY state residents? Do CAS and Engineering not?

And I am not an underrepresented ethnic minority.

CALS is one of the land grand universities, and has an agreement with the State of NY. Hence NY state residents have an advantage at CALS.

As long as your major lines up, and you have the stats/scores to back it up, your best chance would be ED1 at CALS.

Oh I see & thanks.
Unfortunately, I don’t see myself applying to CALS over engineering or cas.
