Chance me for Emory 33 ACT mediocre GPA

I’m a high school senior, with a 33 on ACT and 3.21 (unweighted) GPA at an elite private prep school in the northeast. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ve tried hard enough to take the hardest courses, and have only taken 5 honors/ap courses throughout high school. However, I have leadership positions in two clubs at school, did Emory Pre-College in which a professor wrote a recommendation for me, and plan to apply ED. Do you think I have a chance or should I apply early elsewhere?

@tyler2016 Mediocre gpa? That gpa is low, I like your ACT score though but that gpa is way too low. Are you a minority if so then you may have a very good chance but let me chance you accurately based on your gpa and test score.

Applying ED1 gives an applicant a 52% chance of admission. Now according to Emory colleges recent class profile 59% of the 17681 applicants have ACT scores between 30-36 so 10432 applicants applied with that score. According to Emory 76% of the 4685 admitted students have ACT scores in the 30-36 range so 3561 of admits have this score. This means 3561 of 10432 of applicants were admitted giving a 34.1% admit rate for students with ACT scores in the 30-36 range. Applicants with a gpa in the 3.0-3.5 make 19% of applications so 3360 applicants and only 6% of those admitted so 282 students. This means applicants with gpas in the 3.0-3.5 band have a 8.4% admit rate.

Therefore, based on test score alone you have a 34.1% chance of admission and based on gpa alone you have a 8.4% chance of admission. However, since you are applying ED I give you a 20%-30% admit rate. Hope this helps and good luck.
