Hooks/Additional information
I moved to North Carolina in 9th grade and I got really sick when I came here and that deeply affected my freshman and sophomore year. I have an upward grade trend since then.
I go to a top 65 ranked high school nationally/top 5 in the state of North Carolina(I don’t want to reveal which one) and our school is known to be very competitive.
I also have a very good raport with my teachers and some have already said that they would write excellent recommendations.

The title and the text have ED1 and ED2 different - which is which?

Anyway - you’re in the ballpark range for both (maybe slightly light on GPA for Emory) and would get an ED bump for both, but the usual caveat is that both schools have low admit rates. (You presumably know that both Oxford and LS have a somewhat better chance than the overall school admit rates.) It’s not a certain thing, but you should have a decent shot at both stats and EC wise; your essays and recs will matter too.

Slightly curious as to how you shortlisted to these two, simply because the two campuses are very different.

Thanks for your reply! I was personally unsure of what type of campus I wanted and it seems like both NYU and Emory are fantastic colleges. My top 3 choices include Emory, NYU, and my state school UNC Chapel Hill. I guess the biggest challenge I will have, especially with Emory, is my GPA. That’s why I’m unsure if I should apply to Emory ED because my unweighted GPA is only at the 25th percentile. Also I’m a senior not a Junior so I have to decide my ED1 really soon.
