Chance me for Emory ED1 Class of 2021

Been lurking on here for a while and figured why not make a chance me post. Really don’t think I have a shot

ACT: 32 (31E, 31M, 35R, 31S, 10 Writing (out of 12).
GPA: 3.62 UW, 4.7 W (Screwed up freshman year. Goes up to around 3.75 UW and 5.2 W just sophomore and junior year)
AP’s: 12 total, Human Geo (9), English Lang (10), Environmental Science (10), US History (10), Spanish Lang and Culture (10), Psychology (11), English Lit (11), US Government (11), Seminar (11), Research (12), Microeconomics (12), Statistics (12).
Extracurriculars: Features Editor and Business Manager of the school paper (11, 12), Varsity Basketball Manager (10, 11, 12), Student Council Public Relations Chair (9, 10), Mentor to incoming 7th grade students (9,10,11,12), President of German International Club (9,10,11,12) , National Honor Society (11, 12)
Summer work: Camp Counselor every summer I’ve been in high school
Service Hours: 300
Essays: My common app essay is really strong and unique, I think I’d give it a 9/10. I found a tiny formatting error in it, so I hope that doesn’t screw me over too much. The Emory Essay’s are as good as they could be for how short they were.
Rec Letters: Rec 1: AP Lit teacher who liked me and is very into college and knows me pretty well. Dedicated a lot of time to my rec letter so I’d think it’d be pretty good.
Rec 2: AP Gov teacher who writes a lot of recommendations but really liked me and I did amazing in her class and was super knowledgable.
Rec 3: Basketball coach who I work for and I’ve known throughout high school. She is a really strong writer, so it is probably very good.
Counselor Rec: Probably pretty basic but pretty positive. We have a good relationship but she has to write a lot of them.
Awards/Honors: AP Scholar (10), AP Scholar w/ Honor (11)

Demographics: White Male from a highly ranked and competitive public high school in Chicago

Hooks: Attended a program that allowed me to start high school in 7th grade, so took super advanced classes like physics which juniors take at my school freshman year, and more stuff like that.

Colleges I’ve gotten into: Tulane, Indiana U SPEA, UMinnesota CLA

Applied for need-based financial aid

Hopefully I did this right!

Why you think you don’t have a shot?Your stats are amazing.I think you have a great chance!

You sound like a super strong candidate!!

@YXZ9978 I guess part of it is that I’m a worrier, but also a lot of my friends with better or similar stats have been rejected from their ED schools like Columbia or Stanford, which are super hard to get into regardless, but I’m just worried.

@cubbieblue21 Haha don’t worry. Stanford and Columbia are much harder to get in than Emory though…

Is it an issue I didn’t take SAT subject tests?

@ No.Emory does not require SAT subject test and a lot of people got in without this score.

@CubbieBlue i didn’t take sat 2’s either

@YXZ9978 Ok! Thanks so much for the help! Hope you get in too (if you’re applying!)

@cubbieblue21 Thanks!Hope we all get in!
