I was accepted at a selective veterinary medicine program at Purdue University on the summer of 2011.</p>

<p>On a side note, I think that my writing skills are very good(according to the head of the English department at school) and that my letters of recommendation will be great as well since both of the teachers love me. xD</p>

<p>I think you should consider schools good in medicine cause your volunteer experience would be your highlight…
And I think you match schools from 20 to 30+. Can reach higher if you want… Vanderbilt I think have chance, Purdue is in… Duke is probably high reach… Maybe you want to buff up your application so that there are highlights and there are mundane things? And maybe you wanna select a wider range of schools, consider more schools ranking about 20? Ya.</p>

My plan is actually to major in molecular biology and then get into Cornell’s DVM/Ph.D program :)</p>

<p>Your ACT scores are really weak for Duke and Vandy, but there is still hope! You will add “ethnic diversity” so I’d say you have relatively decent chances! Good luck!</p>
