And here are my stats:

Unweighted GPA: N/A
Weighted GPA: 3.85

Courseload: All honors/AP classes, by the time I graduate I will have had 8 APs (most challenging courseload available).

-Mock Trial
-Foreign Affairs Club (Founder)

I know these are all great schools, thanks for the feedback!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Stay within the top 10% of your class. Take the hardest curriculum available to you. Score a 1500+ on the SAT or a 33+ on the ACT, with at least two 700s+ on SAT subject tests. If you want to apply to Georgetown, plan on taking three SAT subject tests. You want to plan out which subject tests to take and when. Don’t end up studying for the SAT or ACT and several subject tests over your junior year while having to maintain a high GPA. Take a subject test or two by the end of this school year or by the start of the next school year.

For your ECs, you want both leadership and passion. Debate team, mock trial, and the foreign affairs club are all fairly similar, which is good. Go for the Model UN team as well. You want leadership positions in several clubs and you want to show that you are skilled in what you do, which can be demonstrated through winning Model UN awards or Debate awards at local competitions.

I would not focus on choosing which schools to apply to yet. You want to build yourself a competitive enough application so that you can be realistic about applying to these top schools. You are definitely on the right track! Look results threads for the schools you are interested in to see what kind of applicants get accepted

Thank you so much for the feedback!!! Georgetown is a dream school of mine, I just hope they view my GPA within the context of my school’s grading system!!!

Hey! I’m a current sophomore. I keep forgetting that I can’t judge other’s weighted GPAs because every school grades that differently, but if seems quite low; maybe try to take harder classes? Your ECs are amazing! Two varsity sports, kudos to you!! Based off your ECs, I’m assuming that you want to go into poly sci or international affairs or law, but I may be wrong. You seem solid for a sophomore, just try to get more leadership positions next year which is what I’m trying to do too  Good luck and I hope u can get into Georgetown!!
