I really love BC and Georgetown, but I don’t know if I can get in. Im high school class of 2019, so obviously I’m not done, but here are my stats:
GPA: 3.72 (planning to pull up at least 0.1 with more classes I’m interested in), and I go to a difficult prep school in Chicago so grades are tough.
Sophomore PSAT: 1380
I’m Catholic, and go to a Jesuit high school.
World History AP (did not take the class): 3
The APs I plan on taking are APUSH, which I took this year, Chem, Physics, Euro, Comparative Government, English Lit (the only one offered at my school, AB calc or stats, and Macro.
I’m a very talented social studies student, and got an A+ and an A in APUSH my sophomore year. However, my science teacher was incredibly disorganized and kind of a nightmare, and I got a B- and a C+. Will that mess anything up? I plan on redeeming myself with my physics grade, but is it beyond repair.
I volunteer in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, am an executive board member of our Model UN team, which is one of the best in the country and may be the Secretary General, am an editor for the newspaper and may be editor in chief, am on the exec board of the voices of women club, and work with incoming freshmen through our ambassadors club. I played water polo freshman year and was freshman class secretary.
I also have a job at a pizzeria.
I was nominated for Sophomore and Freshman of the year, and have won various model UN awards from colleges around the country.
I’ll probably get a pretty good teacher rec, since I’m having my model UN moderator and comparative government teacher write it. She knows me well and likes me a lot. I’m having a family friend, who gave a commencement address for the Georgetown business school write a character rec.
I have a legacy from my dad.
How likely am I to get in to BC, Georgetown, Fordham, Amherst, and Kenyon? What are some other schools that could work? Thank you!
