So I am entering my junior year and am really interested in Georgetown, but don’t think I’m qualified.
I currently have a 3.71 GPA, but it should boost up to a 3.76 buy the end of junior year. I have taken the hardest classes offered for the most part. APHUG (3 on exam) and all honors where offered freshman year, I got a B in APHUG and all A’s and a couple A-'s that year to finish with a 3.78. Sophomore year was pretty rough, I had a lot going on and was working when not busy with sports, and got a 3.63 for the year. I took AP Stat and all honors where offered again, but got a B in chemistry, B+ in honors spanish/Modern world and mostly A-'s and a few A’s, but got a 5 on stat exam. Junior year I am going to take AP Chem, APUSH, AP English, and all honors, and will take even more APs senior year. Junior year and senior year i am not kidding when I say I will not take anything lower than straight A’s, so I will have much better grades junior year and senior year, and can expect a 5 on most AP exams.
I am also in my schools selective Academy of Finance program, part of the National Academy Foundation, and will have taken business classes (accounting, other business classes required as part of the program, and AP Stat/mirco) and will have completed an internship through the program.
On another note, I am Vice president of my class, captain of my varsity lacrosse team/youth lacrosse coach, and have a role as a pollster for my schools newspaper. I also started a kids helping kids chapter at my school and am president of that club as well. I am also a sunday school teacher at ym church and have done lots of community service.
I am aiming for a 32-34 on the ACT, and 700+ on the math 2 & chem subject SAT.
Anyways, do I have a chance with Georgetown, or other schools that are near as selective? whats the best you think I should consider? Any input would be greatly appreciated, as I’m not sure where I stand. I want to major in business. If you think I can change anything/do more to help my chances please let me know
