Hi~I'm a 24 dude...getting old...sigh..I moved from Hong Kong to the US 5,6 years ago. After Hight school i went back to Hong Kong and waste my life for almost 2,3 years and traveling around China. Finally make up my mind and came back to the States at 09 to finish my education. I'm currently studying in a community college in florida.I have a 3.4 GPA with 30 credit so far. I'm considering to apply for the Fall 2011(deadline is April 1), I know I don't have much chance...but NYU is like my dream school..If i have a 3.6 GPA when i finish my 46 credit do you think i still have a little chance? But by May 2010 until I turn in my application then it would be too late... what should I do? do I have a good chance to get in?(maybe i'll apply at 2011 summer)Do i need anythings eles like personal essay or recomandation?is baruch a good school?do i have any other option with my GPA?(fordham? Baruch?Pace?)i'm only consider school located in New york city.thank you all ~~please gives me an idea guys!

What school within NYU are you applying to? What do you want to major in?

stern…business major

Transferring to Stern is really difficult - and I mean really difficult.
I would suggest you look more closely at Pace as an option because transferring to Fordham or Baruch is a crapshoot. Good luck hemancheng!

I’ve heard from other threads that you need around 3.9-4.0 to have a shot at transferring. Also, i think they might look at your math courses more heavily since it is…well, business. And you didn’t do well in algebra. It might be very difficult for you to get in…

how come Baruch and Fordham is a crapshoot?
I thought fordham is better than Baruch and then Pace…?
Which school will lend you a better job opportunity?

I would say that Baruch has the best job placement out of the 3 you listed. I know of a few friends who transferred from Baruch to NYU and they all really liked it there. Their honors business program is really great.
