So, I want to apply to Grinnell and I'd sure love some input.
ACT Composite: 27.
Writing: 8.
GPA (weighted): 3.7.
I took two ACC classes last year and am taking an ACC and AP class this year.
I can get stellar letters of recommendation and write a great application essay.
List of extra-curriculars: fall play, spring musical, accepted into Writing Workshop at WashU this summer, sent work into Young Authors contest at Columbia College Chicago.
I'm planning to major in English.

Tbh your ACT is low for the school and a 3.7 gpa weighted is not that good. U sure it isn’t a 3.7 unweighted? And u haven’t listed mug here so I’m sure u have a bunch of other things to make your app stand out. If you want to go there, believe you will get in and apply no matter what people say. U have a chance and just wish you will get in! Good luck!

Note that if you are male, it helps a bit because more women than men apply to LACs for a variety of reasons and schools like to keep the gender ratio close to 50/50.

Also, Grinnellians are highly self-selected. If you can visit and interview, do it. And make sure it comes across in your essays that Grinnell is your top choice, or at least one of your top choices. Most schools would rather take someone who really wants to be there over someone with higher scores/grades for whom it’s clear they aren’t a top choice.
