Chance me for Harvard and I'll be your friend!!!!!

LOL thanks for clicking on my post.

Grades: strong (school doesn't give GPA or rank)
SAT I: 2200 (CR: 760, M:720, W:720)
SAT II: Lit (Pending), Math I (Pending), Physics (Taking it in December)
AP: Aeneid (4), U.S. History (3)
ECs: Mainly breadth rather than depth but with traceable interests (different ECs in business and music)
Classes: Most demanding in 9th grade, less in 10th, bare minimum in 11th and demanding again in 12th.
Hooks: URM, low-income, (not sure if this is relevant but my grandparents met there- doesn't count for legacy but it's a cute little story)

Anything I can do to boost myself (re-test? bulk up on ECs?) if my chances aren't great here? Also if you could chance me for Cornell I'm a legacy there! Thanks for your help!!

ehh it’s a longer shot than most.

You have good academics, so it’s really going to come down to ECs/essay/recommendations. If you nail these portions of the application, you’ll have shot. Harvard admissions are, however, extremely competitive and unpredictable, so it’s hard to know for sure. Good luck and thanks for chancing me!

buuuuuump…any ideas for Cornell chances for legeacy too?

BUMP 10char

ohhh definitely Cornell! and i liked how you said ‘cute little story.’ but yeah, the most im worried about is the ECs. but i think you have a chance. its not impossible :)

Harvard like URMs!! Good Academics… if you have great ECs and Recs then its a good should, or at least should be!! Harvard is very unpredictable… My friend’s brother had a 2300 and got rejected(attending Yale) and another friend had a 1900 and got accepted so… GOOD LUCK :)

You’re IN at Cornell!!

I think with Harvard its insane with the 8% acceptance rate, but you definitely have a chance. Great SAT and hooks. You have an excellent shot at Cornell with the legacy. Good luck!

Chance me back :)?

I think that Harvard will be difficult to get into, but there’s nothing to e discouraged about with it! If you are not accepted, I have no doubt that you will be accepted at Cornell! Best of luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1232794-final-chance-thread-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Extremely good chance at Cornell with your scores, URM and legacy. URM status puts you in contention at Harvard, but meh AP scores and unless you elaborate more, your ECs sound average as well. I’d say mid-to-high-reach at Harvard (versus high reach for most people).

SAT score makes your chances at top colleges kind of iffy. I dont know your ECs so I cant judge based on those but if your essay is good enough, you stand a good chance. “Strong” s probably not an apt enough description of your grades to judge. Just Sayin.

Chance back please [= ; http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1233558-my-story-will-my-dream-schools-understand.html</a></p>

Course rigor is important. Depth rather than breadth is also important in ECs. Test scores are average for Harvard. Based on this, unless all your essays (make sure to write the optional extra essay) and recommendations are stellar, I highly doubt you will get into Harvard, even had you applied early.

This is great, you guys! Keep 'em coming!

You have a chance, I’ll say that. However, I find it strange that your school does not at least give you a gpa. If you have straight A’s, then with that SAT score you have a shot, I would say a reach, but a possibility. Again, like the others have said, Cornell would be a great choice, and a much better chance than Harvard.

Chance Back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1238174-can-i-get-into-notre-dame-nyu.html#post13423021</a></p>

Any more chances? Also any tips for what I can do to improve my chances?

It will be a reach but its also hard to judge with no real GPA. It will come down to the small things. If you write a really good essay you can probably find your way in. REally hard to judge for schools that competitive though.

Well, although you do have great grades and scores, I think your lack of more AP courses and commitment to/depth in extracurriculars might hurt you just a little bit. Everyone’s story is different though, so I’d say your chance is fair at Harvard, and much better at Cornell… Good luck!
chance me plz? (: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1238317-chance-mit.html#post13425940</a></p>

Longshot, but it’s Harvard

Good scores, but EC’s seem to be lacking. List a couple of them.
