If your parents are huge donors then they’ll probably find some connection to help you get in. That being said, many donors kids still get rejected each year. How rigorous was your course schedule? There are tons of students with 3.8 GPAS who were rejected from ivy leagues, let alone Harvard, because they didn’t have any APS, IBS, Honors etc. In my opinion, you also want to aim for about a 1500+ SAT Score. Most students with 3.98 GPAs, as well as APs, IB, Honors, etc, are also getting rejected from Harvard, because 57,000 apply, and 2,000 are accepted, and, of these, at least 500 are legacies, athletes and kids of donors.
