I have a 4.0 GPA, 4.39 weighted, and am involved in a plethora of extracurriculars (from running half of my student government, to being a lead news editor for my school's newspaper, to founding and being the CEO of my own charitable business that helps the homeless, etc). I am also Hispanic, and write about my culture in one of my essays. My ACT is 32 (35 English, 33 Math, 30 Reading, 28 Science). SAT II: Math II: 750 USH: 710
APs: Mostly 4's and 3's (11 total AP classes). My interview went extremely well (lasted an hour and a half, and he said he gave me a very strong recommendation). My essays are great and I feel very confident and passionate about them. I believe that my letters of rec. from my teachers are strong, and my principal insisted on writing a letter of rec. for me.
I am also an NHS officer, run facebook pages with over 1 million total likes, invest and research the stock market, and have won the presidential award for community service (a national award). I am looking forward to seeing the decision in mid-December for early action, and would love to hear what anyone thinks about what I have listed above.

It is hard to say with this information. I’d say you definitely have a chance. The FB pages probably won’t matter unless it’s related to your passions or academia… I’d not mention it unless it’s something like an educational page or sport/hobby page. Information like this can sometimes hurt. However, a 32 is on the lower end for Harvard, but doesn’t disqualify you even remotely. Make sure your essays count. From that point on, it’s all luck.

But let me say, if spent a lot of time in your extracurriculars, they will definitely help.

Reach, but I think your interview should help you a lot.

A 4.39 GPA is a little on the lower end, approximately the first quartile. The ACT score is also on the lower end, in the bottom 20%. However, your extracurriculars are extensive and well thought-out, but shallow in scope, if you know what I mean. I am not going to lie to you, I think Harvard is a reach school at max, but it doesn’t hurt to dream! Good luck!

Hey man! First off congrats on everything you’ve achieved so far! Wherever you end up you’ll be a massive success. Your GPA and ECs are stellar, and it’s great that you had such a succesful interview. The only thing holding you back at all is your ACT, but if your essays are good you have a great shot. It’s Harvard so it’s always a crapshoot, but you’ve got a great chance! Best of luck! :)

National community award is very good!

And ignore VivaCardinals.

Thank you for the feedback. I listed my social media interest and endeavors as one of my activities, but highlighted how I connect it with my entrepreneurial passion. I feel confident in my essays, and yes I agree; I definitely need a lot of luck at this point. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I thought my interview went splendid!

Thanks so much dude! I appreciate the feedback!

you’re in sonny.

haha are you serious? Well, I hope you’re right, because I am in love with every aspect I know about Harvard and all of the resources that they have. I’ll chance you back :)

you have a good chance with that kind of involvement, but as always its a reach for anyone. chance back?

I would say low reach. Your act scores arent amazing but you have more than enough extracurriculars to make up for it. Good luck (:

Thanks! I’ll chance you back :)

Thanks! And yes, I realize my scores aren’t perfect, but I have followed my passions in my extracurricular activities

Wow your EC’s are really good. You have no shortage of leadership roles, especially in the case of you running your own business. Your SAT scores are not perfect (but not many people have perfect scores and there are a ton of people at Harvard with scores much lower than a 2400) but your EC’s more than make up for it. I hope you elaborated on your passion for those EC’s in your essays. If you did, I think you have a solid chance but with Harvard you never know. Good luck!

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1701416-chance-me-for-upenn-mit-and-uchicago-please.html#latest

Its very tough to say. Your stats and ECs are wonderful, but Harvard rejects even the most qualified applicants. Make sure you have a back-up plan just in case, and hope for the best!
Please chance me for my latest thread.

Thanks for the feedback@figuresk8ter07 and @Kdkhan! I’m just hoping for the best now, and I definitely highlighted my passions involving all of my activities in my essays.

I’ll chance you both back
