WILL CHANCE BACK!!!!! Harvard, Stanford, USC, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, UCLA, Berkeley

I have a 4.0 GPA, 4.39 weighted, and am involved in a plethora of extracurriculars (from running half of my student government, to being a lead news editor for my school's newspaper, to founding and being the CEO of my own charitable business that helps the homeless, etc). I am also Hispanic, and write about my culture in one of my essays. My ACT is 32 (35 English, 33 Math, 30 Reading, 28 Science). SAT II: Math II: 750 USH: 710
APs: Mostly 4's and 3's (11 total AP classes). My interview went extremely well (lasted an hour and a half, and he said he gave me a very strong recommendation). My essays are great and I feel very confident and passionate about them. I believe that my letters of rec. from my teachers are strong, and my principal insisted on writing a letter of rec. for me.
I am also an NHS officer, run facebook pages with over 1 million total likes, invest and research the stock market, and have won the presidential award for community service (a national award). What do you think for these schools: Harvard, Stanford, USC, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, UCLA, Berkeley

You have good chances at all of the schools mentioned above except selective ones like Harvard and Columbia since they are a reach for almost everyone that applies. Your recc. letters and the interview should definitely help you out. The only falling point is your ACT score and your weighted GPA. Other than that, I can definitely see you at least getting accepted into one of the schools listed above. One other thing I might suggest you do is apply Early Decision/Early Action in the college that you think is your dream school. This can significantly improve one’s chance since colleges look for commitment.

For more detailed/in-depth chances:

Harvard (3/10 or 30% chance of being accepted)
Stanford (4/10 or 40% chance of being accepted)
USC (7/10 or 70% chance of being accepted)
Columbia (3/10 or 30% chance of being accepted)
UPenn (6/10 or 60% chance of being accepted)
Brown (6/10 or 60% chance of being accepted)
Cornell (7/10 or 70% chance of being accepted)
UCLA (6/10 or 60% chance of being accepted) They receive a lot of qualified applicants each year
Berkeley (6/10 or 60% chance of being accepted) They receive a lot of qualified applicants each year

I would recommend these Safety Schools:
Emory
Lehigh
Maryland
Rutgers
NYU
Northeastern

Thanks for responding on my thread. Appreciate it.

THanks for the feedback and the response! I appreciate it, and I like how you tried to give me a chances overview with percentages. From my understanding however, there is no way to put a specific number on the likelihood of one’s acceptance.

I think you have a solid chance at some of these schools. Your ACT is slightly low, which might hurt you. Your extracurriculars are spot on though. Chance me back?

For all the Ivies, I think you have a low chance, but so does everyone! You’re ACT is kind of low, but your ECs are strong and show a lot of dedication and initiative on your part.

You definitely have a low chance for Harvard, Stanford, and Columbia. And maybe a higher, but still low chance for UPenn, Cornell, and Brown (but who wants to go to Brown anyway?)

As for the UCs, Good Luck! The UCs are weird and there isn’t really any way to say if you’ll get in or not. Based on your stats and ECs, I think you have a very good chance of getting in, but with UCLA getting 105,000 applicants a year, it’s hard to tell. They like an involved student, which you obviously are.

I’d say you have the best chance at USC or UCLA (UCLA is the most beautiful school in the world if you haven’t already been there.)

I have no idea what the facebook page will really do for your chances. It seems entirely superfluous, but I bet you explained it well on your apps.

Good luck! I think you’ll get into a good few of these!

Chance me back?

Your chances at Cornell, UPenn, and Brown are higher than the other schools on your list. You will most likely be admitted to UCLA
Chance me?
