I believe @JustOneDad, with considerable life-experiences and education – which makes his opinion valuable, whether or not one agrees with his conclusions – was simply attempting to assess the OP’s qualifications in a manner similar to the admissions officers at these three ultra-competitive universities. That’s a real service to the OP. Endless debate can focus on whether this was done with adequate tact, however, I don’t doubt that his viewpoint has some merit.
