-Princeton-low reach
-Brown PLME-mid reach
-Stanford-low reach, high match if you raise the test scores
-Johns Hopkins-High match/low reach
-UChicago-high match, match if your essays are great
-WUSTL University Scholars in Medicine
-Pomona-no idea
-Boston College-low/mid match
-Boston University-safety
-UMass Amherst-safety
-Harvard-reach, but don’t worry! It’s a reach for everyone.
-Yale-low reach

Johns Hopkins: Low Reach
UChicago: Match

to be honest Harvard really isnt even worth applying too altough you do have a solid gpa, test scores are slightly low, and ecs are solid. You may have the advantage of being african american.

-Yale-reach
-Princeton-reach
-Brown PLME-ed here you have a better chance
-Stanford-reach(if you live on the east coast this school may be impossible to get into.)
-Johns Hopkins-high match
-UChicago-high match/low reach
-WUSTL University Scholars in Medicine-this is also a very competetive program so may want to consider eding here
-Pomona(not sure but most likely match)
-Boston College-low match
-Boston University-safety
-UMass Amherst-safety

your courses that you took in high school don’t seem to be realistic. “hardest loadout possible”. are you talking about all honors and ap? if that’s so, it seems very impossible…

Well, at my school, during freshman and sophomore year, each class (English, Math, Science, History, Spanish, and Latin) can be taken at three levels: High Honors (hardest), Honors (medium), and College Prep (easiest). When I say I took the hardest courseload, I took as many classes as I could (you can opt out of taking Latin, but I did not), and I took them all at High Honors level. Ergo, I took the hardest courseload available to me. And for junior and senior year, I am an IB Diploma candidate, which is the most difficult courseload available to me. There were not 20+ APs to choose from of which I took all 20+, lol. I just took as much classes as I could (6) at the highest level that I could (High Honors).

Sorry if I confused you and I hope I cleared that up! :)

your stats look pretty good, although I would work on raising that sat score to at least above a 2200 (especially if you’re considering Harvard scea). Your ecs are above average, but it may not necessarily stand out (in comparison to the competition). I think that the best thing going for you is your work experience in your internships. maybe try to elaborate/emphasize those in your application, because those will help you stand out in the midst of the other applicants.

-Harvard SCEA: reach
-Yale: reach
-Princeton: reach
-Brown PLME: reach
-Stanford: reach
-UChicago: reach
-Johns Hopkins: low reach
-Pomona: low reach
-WUSTL University Scholars in Medicine: sorry dont have enough knowledge about this one
-Boston College: match
-Boston University: safety
-UMass Amherst: safety

I think that you have a really decent chance at these schools, but like other people have said, you will probably have a better chance at getting into one of your reaches if you apply to a school other than harvard for ea. With unique essays and a higher sat score, I think you will be pretty set
hope this helped!

Well you worked in the Harvard Lab…twice…so I would recommend applying there SCEA since you have demonstrated interest. But if you think the competition is too hard, I would go for Hopkins or maybe WUSTL since your lab was related to diabetes.

Your ECs are pretty good but have you looked into volunteering at a hospital or other medically-related opportunity?

Otherwise you have a high chance of getting in to most of these schools…esp. BU and BC.

Good luck!!

And if you have time to chance me back, here’s mine:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1538851-chances-brown-usc-etc-will-chance-back.html

I have a feeling you’ll get into Harvard SCEA. As long as you get your SAT up to (optimally) 2300, you’ll be fine. Even if you don’t get into Harvard, atleast 2 or 3 of your top schools will accept you. Good luck with your applications!

if thats so your chances of getting in every school are over 99.999999%. just hope this isn’t a ■■■■■… not that i was implying anything… but yeah

@GottaGetThat24 Thank you very much!

@MathTeamExtraPro, Lol, I am not a ■■■■■. If I was a ■■■■■, I would have probably gotten a 2400 and 800s on all subjects, as well as started 14389 non-profit organizations. And cure cancer. I suppose the fact that you think I am a ■■■■■ is slightly flattering, lol.

Hey thanks for chancing me! Glad to see more people also applying to Pomona haha.

I think your GPA is definitely very strong and while your test scores aren’t stellar, you are definitely qualified academically. Wide range of ECs will help a lot too.

I think the top Ivies + Stanford & Chicago should not be high reaches for you if your essays are decent. Honestly, I would be surprised if you did not get accepted by at least JHU or WUSTL. I feel that you have nothing much to worry about at the moment since your essays are going great :)

Thanks for chancing!
I’m going to assume you can get a 2200, cause I fell like you can do it based on the work ethic that comes through

SCEA: Harvard: reach/high reach
RD:
-Yale: reach
-Princeton: reach
-Brown PLME: reach-(Research and hospital volunteering will probably help you here)
-Stanford: reach/high reach
-Johns Hopkins: High match
-UChicago: Low reach
-WUSTL University Scholars in Medicine: High match
-Pomona-match
-Boston College-low match
-Boston University-safety
-UMass Amherst-safety

I think you’ll probably make it into at least a few of your top schools, because you’re in range for all of them. Which schools you make it into will probably depend a bit on subjectives like your essays and rec, and a a bit on luck.

Thank you guys! Your inputs are appreciated!

Harvard - reach, improved SAT will help a lot
Yale - reach
Brown PLME - reach
Stanford - reach
JHU - low reach
UChi - reach
WUSTL - high match
Pomona - high match
BC - low match
BU - safety
UMass - safety

Really study for the SAT hard and the ACT if you take it. GPA is strong and ECs are decent but the top schools want to see better test scores. URM will help and possibly major depending on what it is.

Wow! You have a lot of great things going for you
I’d say your research at Harvard and rigorous class schedule makes you stand out. Like stated in this post and others, all these ivy schools are honestly just chance sometimes unless you have something overly amazing. So I can honestly say that your chances for Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Stanford are equally the same- they are all extreme reaches. They are reaches for everyone! But I really think that a combination of your research and your (in plain terms) ethnicity will help you have a higher chance to get into Harvard. If you are definitely passionate about biology, then I would suggest early decision Brown PLME. But if your heart is set on Harvard, don’t be discouraged. You have an awesome profile, so not matter where you end up you will be great!
