I NEED FINANCIAL AID ( 75 - 100 %)
Great ecs and grades/test scores, but ivies and Stanford are a reach for anyone because of the low acceptance rates. Also you would not get much, if any, financial aid from these schools. I would say that if you really need the fa drop a tier or two down so you can get the money.
^^ Not sure what this poster is talking about with respect to financial aid. All of the Ivies provide generous financial aid and they are all need blind for domestic applicants. About half are even need-blind for internationals as well. The best aid will come from these schools.
I think your chances are okay. It’s not completely out of your ballpark, but your scores are on the middle/lower end (depends on school and subscores) and for the most part I think your ECs are pretty typical - president of clubs with low level awards, standard volunteering. The app work is the thing that could make you really stand out, but I did some research and couldn’t find anything about any of your apps, which is a little concerning (especially if you provide names) because adcoms may try to determine how successful your apps really are. But then again, with their many, many applications, they may not. Don’t take this to say you aren’t a good candidate, because you are - I’m just not sure it’s enough with how low these schools’ acceptance rates are. A few housekeeping things as well - for these schools, you’ll need at least 2 sat subject tests (they’re required for most if not all) and I believe your recs will have to come from teachers, not administrators, though I could be wrong about that. Also, if you are an international student (which it seems like you are) look into which schools have need-blind admission for international students, because if they do you should be fine, but if not they are more likely to reject you based in part off of your financial need, which is unfortunate but true. Hope this helps!
