Chance me for Ivies and Top 20 Schools ( haven't really narrowed down a list)Thanks!

I’m an international student ( Asian Female) and I’m a junior and I’m not really sure if I want to apply to the States but I think it’s worth a shot. So here goes

10th grade 96.8% {national exams, rank 1 in class}

but my counselor will probably explain that}

I want to pursue either Philosophy,Politics and Economics or double major in philosophy and economics with like a minor in CompSci (is that possible?)

Quizzing- Won a couple of national level quizzes and lots of state and city ones
Debating- won some city debates

Volunteering- volunteer around 10 hours a week with two local NGOs, I’m like the
only student volunteer
Started a local climate change club but then kind of assimilated it with the local
Fridays for Future chapter.
Awards: 13th rank in the Indian Philosophy Olympiad (youngest participant)
Ranked in the top 10 internationally in some SOF Olympiads, but have been told
it doesn’t count for much
School awards for academics and stuff
Selected in the top 100 from about 300,000 students for a scholarship
I did an internship with a local society on the history of my city

I’m also kinda worried about the essays because they are unlike any I’ve ever written, and english isn’t is my first language, so I’d really appreciate advice on how to approach them

Is my profile good enough for top 20(30?) schools? I’d love suggestions on how I can improve, and any schools that might be a good fit for me( and that would provide substantial financial aid)
Thank you so much!!

You are a strong student but you need to research the top 20/30 colleges to determine best fit. They are all different and will offer a different college experience and programs. For example, Cornell is not the same as University of Chicago; Caltech will be different college experience than Brown.

You need to really research these colleges and narrow the list down to best fit financially, academically and socially. Find out what the college wants in an applicant (i.e. how will you contribute to the success of the college) not just looking at what college is best for you.

Do you want a large public school like UC Berkeley? A small liberal arts college like Amherst?, etc.

I would narrow the list down and come back to CC with additional questions. Good luck!

Can you afford $60-$70,000 per year as full pay student? What is budget? Will need to prove you can afford. Have you taken TOEFL, etc.

Thanks a lot guys
socaldad2002 I would prefer a small LAC. I really like Williams. Do you think I might stand a chance?
Hippobirdly I can afford upto 10k a year, so I need major Financial Aid. I won’t be taking TOEFL cause all my classes are conducted in English.
Also,sorry to bother you but I’m really desperate for some essay help, as well as suggestions on how I could improve?
Thanks again!
