Hey guys! My name is Brian and I go to a semi-not really competitive high school in Jersey. My high school has sent people to ivies, and as we are right outside of Philly, is almost a filter to UPenn because of the large amounts of our students sent to UPenn :].

Ethnicity - Caucasian

Income - Depends, my father is pretty wealthy, but I don't live with him. I live with my mother who is a math teacher at a local middle school, sooo....

So what do you guys thing? Do I have a shot at all?

I’d say you have a really good shot at all of them except Harvard and possibly Columbia.
Rutgers is a definite acceptance for you, and they’ll probably give you a full ride as well if you want to save money. For the others you have a really good shot, especially if your school has sent multiple students to UPenn. If you really want to go to Harvard, you’ll want to raise that ACT score a couple points. But you can almost definitely get into most of these colleges.

Yeah, I assumed as much with Harvard, haha! I thought I’d apply just for the fun of it even though I know I won’t get accepted =)
Thanks though!

Your credentials look fantastic.Your GPA is spot on for any school in this country (as if you already didn’t know :D). The only thing that may hold you back at some ivies is your ACT score, but I think your GPA covers up that “short coming” (god I would love a 33). EC’s, awards, and summer experiences look great. Harvard and Columbia might be a stretch. I believe that your odds are from good to great at most of your school. I wish you the best of luck!!

31-35 is the 25-75% range for act scores at Harvard. 33 falls right in the middle. A 33 will not hold you back at any school in the world.

Thanks guys! =) I didn’t know my score was in the 50% at Harvard? Wow, that made me feel cool! haha!
Anyone else?
(P.s., I love your name “Reaganomics” as I study for my AP history class! xD)

Bump! Ill chance back laterr :)

Bump!!!

bump, :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Columbia- Reach
Cornell- High Target
UPenn (Wharton! uh-oh!)- Not happening unless you ED where its a reach
NYU Stern- target
Northwestern- high target
University of Chicago- high target
Northeastern- safety
Boston University- safety
MAYBE Harvard/Rutgers

Firstly, your school selection = eh in terms of you dont need to apply to bu/northeastern since there are safeties above that. if you wanna do biz, apply to umich ross (right after wharton/stern in finance) and mcdonough. unless you ED at wharton, itll be nearly impossible to get in although if youre gonna ED there, do LBW for the summer and youll likely get in if you get into LBW. harvard is a definite reach. columbia is easier than wharton but still a reach. i recommend adding brown to this list as well.
hope that helps

Thanks very much for your input! I saw Wharton today, so I don’t think I’m going to do ED, but that’s okay. I do believe I like Cornell a bit more than UPenn, so I’ll see how that works out come next year! I haven’t really looked into Brown, but I’ll check it out =]
