Chance me please for NYU Stern, Columbia, Cornell, etc!

Hi, I'm a Junior this year. I've heard a lot that admissions doesn't like theater kids, so I was hoping you could dispel/accept that theory by chancing me! Thanks so much!

Much more here as well, but these are the ones I spend most my time

-Recs/Essays:
For programs I'm applying to now, my Recs are fantastic. My essay is really funny as well.

There's a ton more, but this is just a general idea of my resume.

So, what do you think? Do you think music/theater will keep my out of a college? Thanks for your help!

You’re wrong! Colleges don’t like mission trips, hahaha.

NYU Stern–match, if you are from the South; low reach/match, if you are from the North
Columbia–high reach
Cornell–high reach
UPenn–high reach
U of Chicago-match/low reach
Syracuse-safety
Northeastern-safety

Chance me?

Thanks! Out of curiosity, why do you think my chances in the ivies are so low? :]

^ Everyone’s chances at the Ivy’s are very low…partly due to their unpredictability. Every year many 2400 SAT’s and 4.0 GPA’s are rejected and 2000 SAT’s and seemingly weak candidates are admitted.

One of my close friends was admitted ED to Columbia this year, 32 ACT, around 680’s on his Suject Tests, but outstanding EC’s which made him STAND OUT. This fact is undeniable, the more you stand out, the higher your admission chances.

Ivys are low because of what pianodude said and you have not demonstrated any leadership capabilities. Alot of people on this forum don’t realize how much demonstrating leadership skills can help them out.

Thanks guys for your input! And your right, I do not have a lot of leadership, besides being a fencing captain. My goal is to be elected president of NHS, and I’m also going to take an active role in my drama club this year and see if the teacher can create an officer position.
