<p>I'm new on CC. I'm a senior in high school, applying right now. I have a perfect SAT (not superscored, but second time taking it) and perfect GPA with the most difficult classes available at school. I have three major leadership positions, and involvement in 10+ clubs, four of which are competitive, for four years. I also have medium proficiency (not extremely impressive or anything) in piano. I have 14 years of dance experience too including solo, group, and choreography. Race is considered Asian, but not Indian or Chinese (when they ask you to specify). Possible hook is fluency in 4 languages and major knowledge of 3 more. Sorry that was long! I hope someone answers..</p>
<p>Cornell and Brown are your best Ivy League bets, high matches apiece; the other ones are so unpredictable and are reaches for anyone. Definitely apply, though.</p>
<p>You’d be competitive for the vast majority of state Us; which state Us are you falling back on if your Ivy League dreams fall through?</p>
<p>You sound competitive based one what you’ve said. Perfect SAT (woah), and major leadership positions, sounds really good. I think you have a solid chance at Cornell, Brown, NU, Duke, Penn, and the likes. Does your high school generally send a decent number of kids to Ivies/top schools? That should give you a really good idea of how you stack up academically. Beyond that, you seem to be interested in dance and being fluent in 4 languages, plus knowing about 2 more shows depth and breadth in your interests. What are you trying study in college?</p>

<p>Thanks for the help! I’m still working on my apps, so I’d like to do that with the perspective of where I have a better chance of being accepted. I’m trying to study engineering in college, and if possible do a double major or major/minor with comp lit. Boston U, Rutgers, and Penn State are the state ones I’m seriously considering, but I’m hoping I get scholarships there. I guess mostly I was looking for reassurance, I’m kind of anxious.</p>

<p>The more selective schools, however, will be looking further to see how you will add value to the undergraduate student body. Academic performance is only one component of that. </p>
<p>Who have you been in your ECs? How did you add value? Will your letters of recommendation support strength there?</p>
