Research

American Cancer Society 8 week paid cancer research internship for 25 people from Illinois.
Northwestern/ Rehab Instit of Chicago last summer

Recs, essays - probably good, not spectacular

Schools - Northwestern, University of chicago, harvard, yale, princeton, wash u, mit, upenn, u of i urbana, brown, uw- madison
Do I have any chance, or do I need to improve test scores?

Thanks

please…bump

Northwestern - High Match
University of Chicago - Impossible to tell because so much depends on your essays/recs, but do well on those and you’ll be fine.
Harvard - Reach
Yale - Reach
Princeton - Reach
Wash U - High Match
MIT - Reach
UPenn - Low Reach
UIUC - Safety
Brown - Low Reach
University of Wisconsin - Madison - Safety

Report your English Lit score. I remember someone from Harvard saying that they saw not disclosing all of your scores as dishonest, other schools on your list may have this philosophy too, I don’t know.

Your Congressional Award Gold Medal is definitely impressive, but overall, your extracurriculars do not pop our particularly. No AIME for math? Maintain your ranking and grades; although I am not familiar with a 5-point GPA system.

Northwestern - Match
University of Chicago - Low Reach
Harvard - Reach
Yale - Reach
Princeton - Reach
Wash U - In
MIT - Reach
UPenn - Low Reach
UIUC - Not familiar with your state system
Brown - Low Reach
University of Wisconsin - Not familiar with your state system

yeah, you’ve got a lot of good activities and standout awards in my opinion (more than I can say for myself), and plus your SAT score is not like BADD. Though, I’m also not familiar with a 5.0 grading system.

Northwestern - Match
University of Chicago - low reach
Harvard - mid Reach (recs and essays are important on HYMP, so really work on those)
Yale - mid Reach
Princeton - mid Reach
Wash U - Match
MIT - mid reach
UPenn - Low Reach
UIUC - In, especially since you’re instate
Brown - Low Reach
University of Wisconsin - Madison - in

You look like a good candidate. I’m not sure why you would say your recs/essays wouldn’t be great, considering your grades, I’m sure your teachers will have good things to say about you, and your essays are all about what you’re willing to put into them, and I’m sure you’re going to try and thus present excellent essays! To be honest, Ivies are always tricky, however I think you are well-qualified. Best of luck to you!

Great rank, raise your scores. As an ORM from a well represented state, you’ll want each of your SAT scores to be as close as possible to the 75th percentile which is 790 in each section at HYP.

Great rank. I’d say your SAT and ACT are pretty decent, maybe a little lacking for HYP, but probably fine everywhere else. your ECs, though there are a lot, and im sure many required a lot of time, seem very common with the exception of your research work (nice!).

HYPM:reach
UPenn, Brown: low reach
NW, U chicago: high match
WAsh U, u of i, uw: not to familiar, but based on what I know,id say your in
chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736144-chance-upcoming-senior-my-school-picks.html

id say ur in everywhere, but HYPM is hard to tell as always.
but i would think that you would probably get into at least one of them.
