INTENDED MAJOR: Physics
STANDARDISED TESTING: 1540 on the SAT. 800 on Math 2 and Physics subject tests.
HIGH SCHOOL COURSELOAD: I did the CIE A Levels, and took Further Math, Math, Physics, and Chemistry. My predicted grades are AAA*A respectively in A Level. In AS Level, I got 92, 95, 88, 86 (the letter grades would be small a’s) respectively.
EXTRACURRICULARS:
- real passionate about football and strength training, been in the HS football team for three years. We went on many inter school and a few interstate tournaments, and won some. but i dont expect to be a sport recruit at all
- The children in my hometown could not afford boots to play football, so I conducted bare-feet only football tournaments to raise money and buy 12 of them football studs.
- Interned at local private hospital in their psychology department to help convince conservative audiences that “only mental people go to therapy” is wrong. final project included a speech.
- Physics and Maths teacher at an international tutoring service aimed at financially disadvantaged students, who especially did not have access to much other than the internet.
- developed a website for a local shop for allowing costumers to order online.
ESSAYS: 7-8/10 idk im not very good at writing
OTHER SCHOOLS:
- Brown
- UChicago (EA)
- Northwestern
- UCSantaBarbara CCS Physics
- UIUC (EA)
- University of Maryland College Park (EA)
- UWashington
–and a few other unis
my top choice is Johns Hopkins because I like their physics department, which is a small tight-knit and focuses a lot on undergraduate teaching, research, and collaboration.
I am considering applying ED but this means that if I do not receive aid, the $80k/year will screw me over. Oh also, I am INTERNATIONAL (Indian), so applying for aid might severely lower my chances because I do not have super insane extracurriculars.
Please chance me for these universities and help me decide whether I should apply early.
Accepted JHU students, does this profile look like the lower end outlier?
THANKS A LOT
