I am applying EA for Loyola Marymount. I don't think my stats are good enough for admittance, but I want as much insight as possible.

I actually graduated in June, so I guess this would be considered a gap year? I withdrew from my previous college without any W's or credits.

I had a really low gpa. It was a 3.2 UW and a 3.8 W.

SAT was low. 1240/1790.

I had a few ECs, mainly president of the Future Business Leaders of America and playing football.

I plan on getting a recommendation from my former high school guidance counselor and my pastor.

I am applying as a Screenwriting major.

Any body have any thoughts on what my chances are? Thank you. :)

No response? Can anybody help? Also what are my chance at Cal State Long Beach?

I honestly don’t know, but according to collegeboard, you have a decent chance of getting in. However, if you get deferred, I would suggest that you retake the SAT.

You have a good chance at CSU Long Beach. Do you know what your CSU GPA is?
I’m not sure about LMU, but apply EA and see what happens. :)

Good luck!

Your stats are decent for admission to LMU in general, but remember the screenwriting (and any tele and film program) is tougher. Your app will be better if they see evidence of your writing and storytelling ability. Also, can you afford it? LMU is not overly generous with aid, good scholarships would probably need higher stats. Cal State schools aren’t a great deal for out of state. Good luck, applying EA is a great idea, put your best effort into it. App must be received by Nov. 1, supplements postmarked by same!
