<p>I know the SAT is pretty bad for MIT and Stanford standards, but hopefully I can take it again this October. And it would be nice if you know someone who goes or have been to one of these colleges :).</p>

<p>All of the schools other than Carnegie Mellon are huge reaches. Doesn’t hurt to try though!</p>

<p>What was your math score on SAT?</p>

<p>I say you have as good a shot as any nonhooked applicant</p>

<p>800 Math Score for SAT, 750 for SAT2 Math 2 and 800 Chemistry
And I’m first generation college so is that a hook?</p>

<p>Anything I can do to increase my chances?</p>

<p>First generation college student is really a tipping factor. I wouldn’t think too much of it.</p>

<p>What’s your class rank or percentile?</p>

<p>I was 2nd Freshmen year, but they don’t do ranks anymore.
I’m in NHS, and that alone gets me in top 15%.</p>

<p>But rank isn’t really indicative for course work because some can take easy APs to boost their gpa(you get an extra 10 points)</p>
