to me , i believe that score no longer matters for those who get over 2200. but still… u know, it depends largely on luck and sth…sorry, i could not be more helpful…

Amherst(ED): Accepted
Baylor(EA): Accepted
Uchicago(EA): Accepted, I dunno though. Chicago’s hard to predict.

HYPM: I’m going to say Accepted to 1 out of the 4. Rejected or Waitlisted everywhere else.
Dartmouth: Waitlisted
Cornell: Accepted but no FA
Columbia: Waitlisted
Brown: Rejected. I don’t think that you’re quite right for Brown.
WUSTL: Accepted
Williams: Accepted
Swarthmore: Accepted
The rest should all be accepted.

I require some help
I am Indian student looking forward for undergraduate studies in USA and Singapore. I want to major in Computer-Sciences. I am confused as I am unable to decide which university to apply for ?

MY SAT-I was not as good as SAT-II.
SAT-I in January CR:450 W:470 M:800 TOTAL=1720
SAT-I in May CR:480 W:560 M:740 TOTAL=1780
SAT-I IN June CR:490 W:610 M:750 TOTAL=1850
SAT-Highest with all 3 sittings CR:490 W:610 M:800 TOTAL=1900

SAT-II in first sitting in November
Maths Level 2 : 800 Physics : 800 Chemistry : 800

I obtained 9.6 cgpa off 10.0 in 10th grade. I am sure to secure above 90% in Indian 12 standard CBSE exams.

I am also good chess player who has won gold-medals at district level competitions and participation at state and national level competitions
I was selected Best-Chess player and captain of school’s under-19 chess team.
I have won MS-PowerPoint presentation competitions at inter-house, inter-school and tri-city level competitions
I was selected Best-computer wizard of the school and the house.
I have been student body head of school newsletter publishing department and reported directly to vice-principal and house mistress.

Now, the problem I am facing is that I dont know which colleges/universities I should apply to. With perfect scores in SAT-II some of my friends told me to apply to elite colleges like Ivy league, but I think they are crazy. Some people say with 1850/1900 in SAT-I you are not going to get into even good universities like UCSD and Ohio State university what to talk about Ivy league.

Please tell me which colleges should i apply to and please do rate my chances in the following

You have a decent chance at all those schools. You have great grades, test scores and EC’s, but the problem will be the competition, especially with regards to financial aid.

There will be other students who are just as good and students who are just a notch or two below you in the applicant pool, and colleges could want them more than you because of intangibles, so my advice would be to make yourself seem really interested in each college and present yourself as someone who could make a relevant contribution to their community.

Basically, shine with your essays. It will be the deal breaker in an incredibly competitive applicant pool (especially for Chinese students like you).

Wow… Great scores and ECs! (ECs) are what I am lacking… urgh. Anyways, based on what I see (haven’t been here long), you have a decent chance with ALL your achievements for all the schools. But remember, many of them may reject you as there are just TOO many applicants who are also top tier scorers like you! If you need much FA, Amherst would be great but IT is VERY hard to get. My sister who had ALL As on her A levels coupled with a 2250 SAT didn’t make it. Her ECs were OUTSTANDING like your’s too so maybe try applying for lower Ivies or good LACs just in case! Rate me too! Thanks!

You have amazing scores and extracurriculars. But that’s not something you haven’t already been told. I’m not quite sure about Baylor or Amherst, but I feel like you should definitely get into at least two of the five others that you had listed (UChicago and HYPM). You have a great shot and the low acceptance rates of the schools puts you in a place where you really couldn’t have done anything more to make yourself a better applicant.

I would call UChicago a high match and the other four a low reach (but all are definitely attainable). Good luck and I hope this helped
