CHANCE ME FOR MY SCHOOLS! please

<p>So I make an account at College Confidential. Little did I know it was made for incredibly smart kids who are scared they WON'T get into schools they surely will!!! </p>

<p>Then theres ME, above average student for my high school (public in hawaii), and really stressed about my chances at certain colleges.</p>

<p>SOOOOOO help me out!</p>

<p>heres the list:</p>

<p>1) University of Hawaii at Manoa
2) University of Oregon
3) University of Purdue (don't worry, its not for a engineering!)
4) University of San Francisco
5) Marquette
6) Villanova
7) Washington
8) Virginia Tech
9) Ohio State
10) Penn State
11) USC
12) Boston University</p>

<p>im applying everywhere as a communications major (excluding USC where I plan to apply as a nutrition major)</p>

<p>the STATS:</p>

<p>BAD test taker....will take SAT 1's 1 more time before admission, yet to take the 2 SAT subuject tests required for Boston University.</p>

<p>SAT MATH: 610
SAT READING: 590
SAT WRITING: 560</p>

<p>GPA: 3.67 unweighted, 3.825 weighted</p>

<p>i have taken the hardest courses possible at my school, i will graduate with 5 AP classes completed, finishing my junior year I have completed 2, AP English Composition 11 and AP US History, both A's for both semesters.</p>

<p>senior couse load will be:</p>

<p>AP Calculus
AP English 12
Anatomy
Spanish 3
Journalism 2 (sports and features editor)
Biritish Literature</p>

<p>EC's......too sum it all up in a condensed version:</p>

<p>focused mainly on distance running and soccer for sports (2 time district first team in cross country, 2 time school MVP, 3 year captain......1 time district first team, 1 year captain varsity soccer)</p>

<p>played club soccer for #1 ranked team in state</p>

<p>clubs:
interact- 3 years (2007-2008) secretary
NHS- 2 years (2007-2008) secretary</p>

<p>Church Youth Group- confirmed catholic, 3 hrs a week, soup kitchen etc....</p>

<p>sorry it was SOOOOO long, just wanted to give u enough info to get some good answers as to what chance i have at each school.......i hope this wasnt all in vain.</p>

<p>I have a friend with slightly lower stats who got waitlisted and eventually accepted at Virginia Tech, so with the legacy you're probably on the reach/match line there. Try to get that SAT up and you'll be a bit better off. Are you ethnically Hawaiian? That'd help.</p>

<p>sadly I am FAR from Hawaiian ethnically. Its too bad because I have many friends who are and they have gotten into UCLA out of state with NO AP classes and virtually everywhere else, not to mention a 1600 SAT score on the new scale.</p>

<p>Hmm...I'm attending Purdue Aerospace Engineering and my stats were almost exactly like yours! Don't worry! Just apply early and hopefully it should be fine!</p>

<p>I dont know about PSU BU and USC They seem to be low to mid reaches for you. Try and get that SAT up 50-100 points for better chances.</p>

<p>Also, Villanova might be a bit tough also, good luck though. I have faith</p>

<p>If it helps anyone deciding whether or not ill get into BU, im applying under the College of General Studies for my first two years, admissions seems to be significantly easier.</p>

<p>okay but i think 5 aps isnt that much. but i think you can get into those schools.</p>

<p>i know 5 AP's isnt a lot, its all my school offers. my school makes a lot of classes at the honors level, AP and Honors combined I will hvae 11 courses, all that I could have taken.</p>

<p>so when looking at my GPA the 3.825 weighted average is out of something like 4.15, unlike out of 4.5-4.9 often seen in many other states/schools.</p>
