Well Mike (the tutor of the black book) goes through many (not all, only the most missed and asked ones) problems in the redACTBook in much greater detail than the answer responses in the ACT red book. In addition, he gives advice on how to tackle the sections, so maybe you might be able to get some new advice how to tackle each section of the test. A lot of the advice he gave I could not really find in other prep books, and he claims that his advice is what the ACT does not want your to know. I was able to learn that his advice could not be found in other prep book, e.g. Princeton Review and Kaplan or even the Read ACT red book. I felt that his advice was very helpful because his advice helped my techniques because previously I was using the wrong techniques to improve my ACT score, and consequently by using those wrong techniques I could never my score up. However, with his advice, I was able to relax because he taught me techniques that no other prep book had ever bothered to mention, and by being able to relax and knowing the right methods my scores went up fairly quickly. My parents and private tutor always told me to review each problem, regardless if right or wrong, so maybe Mike can give you some new feedback through his book and techniques on how you might be able to change your strategies, especially on the problems you got wrong/had trouble with. If you do get this book, I recommend that you review all the problems he went over and then apply his techniques to all the others problems he did not go over in his black book.
Good luck with your ACT and your college apps!!! Hope you get in!!!
