Chance me for my top schools please (:

Hi all! I am applying to many schools, and I was wondering how many are reaches and how many are goals.
The schools I’m applying to are: Notre Dame, BC, Wake Forest, Villanova, Emory, Elon, Fairfield, University of Richmond, and William and Mary.

I am a white girl from MA, private high school. I would be majoring in Business (more on the management or international business side, less on the finance side) and minoring in Computer Science.

My Stats:
GPA: 3.55 UW, 4.13 W
ACT: 31 Composite - 35 English, 27 Math, 35 Reading, 28 Science
didn’t take SATs
AP - APUSH (5), AP European History (5), AP Language and Comp (4), taking AP Lit, Comp Sci, and French
school doesn’t rank

ECs/Awards:
Volleyball - founded and captained varsity team at my school, selected as league all-star two years in a row, played on national club team since 7th grade under olympic coach
Won state-wide speech competition 2 years in a row (first person to do that and it’s been going since the 70s)
Anchor of local TV news channel (11,12)
President of SADD (10,11,12)
President and Character Representative of NHS (11,12)
Varsity Softball (9-12)
Founder and President of Mindfulness Club (12)
Volunteer at Salvation Army Soup Kitchen (9-12)
Teach Religious Ed. (10,12)
Won several awards for excellence in various classes (APUSH, English classes)
St. Michael’s Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience
Perfect Score on international latin exam (9)
certificate of achievement for national french exam (9,10,11,12)

Essays/Recs
common app essay about having trouble in math sophomore year and what i learned from the experience (i’m now the math representative for my school)
good creative individual essays, well written and true to who i am
good recs from math teacher for past 3 years and english teacher for 2, both really like me

any help would be greatly appreciated! i applied EA to Villanova, Fairfield, Elon, URichmond, and Emory, but my guidance counselor thought i would look better applying RD for the rest.

You seem like a perfectly fine candidate all things considered. Emory and Notre Dame may be a bit on the rougher side, and UR/WF/BC are probably around 50/50, but you still have a chance imo. GPA’s a bit low, but the extracurricular list is great and should compensate. Anyways, I’m sure you’ll get at least a few of them if not more, so don’t stress too much. Best of luck.

Are you applying into the business schools at BC and Villanova? The math score may hurt you there, though your composite is certainly in range. You should be fine for Elon and Fairfield. Notre Dame is unlikely. William and Mary out of state is going to be tough too.

Notre Dame, BC, and Emory will be on the tougher side due to GPA, especially Notre Dame. That being said, much of it will come down to how you compare to your peers. If a 3.55 UWGPA puts you near the top of your class, it will be looked at much differently than if it puts you in say, the middle of your class. You have really strong extra curricular activities, stronger than the vast majority of seniors who will be applying, and that will be a major help. ACT is good, a little low for ND, BC, and Emory, especially Notre Dame, but that is not an automatic out. I would say that Elon, Fairfield, and Richmond are solid, WandM, Villanova, and Wake forest are matches, BC and Emory high match/low reach, Notre Dame a definite reach. Good luck!

Chance me back? Thanks!!!
