Hi, I went to PrincetonReviews and I entered my information to get chanced. I was seeing if I would be a Match for Rutgers, and I was! So my question is, are their chances really reliable?

Can you guys chance me as well?

STATS:
~I am instate
~My SAT scores (CR,W,M) were poor (1450, but I plan on retaking) but my GPA is good (3.5 UW.)
~I'm taking two AP classes this upcoming senior year, and I've taken two honors classes during my sophomore year (World History, and Literature.)
~I've volunteered at the local dining facilities for half of a semester
~After my senior year, I would have taken (in years) 4 Langs, 4 Social Studies/Histories, 4 Maths, 4 Sciences, 3 Foreign Languages (Spanish), and other electives.
~Extracurricular activites include Track (Sophomore year), Drama (Junior year, but I don't know if this would count because it was a class HOWEVER we did come in after school to practice, and we performed for the public.)
~I have a handful of awards including a Bronze Award in U.S History and Honor Roll

Everything is pretty much above average besides your SAT’s, which are significantly lower than average.

I’d shoot for around a 1700 minimum when you factor in your GPA, extracurriculars, and awards. Overall a pretty good chance as long as you raise that SAT score!

school of nursing is out of the question, they are looking for 1800+ and atleast a 3.6.

If you can reach 1800-1900 you might have a chance. Its a competitive program especially since the job demand is very high.

SAS and SEBS you have a ****, bring up your SAT any increase will help,

Key thing is to apply as soon as application comes out, you have a better chance of getting in when all the seats are open compared to when half the seats are open.

Okay, I knew SON would be kind of a reach. I was thinking I could try and see if I can get in my sophomore year.

I heard applying early action isn’t always good though? Especially if it isn’t considered a safety school for an individual. Would it be okay if I applied like a week after early action deadline?

Even if you applied with your current SAT score, theres a chance you’d probably get in. But do take them again and try to raise them! Make your essay stellar!

I know a lot of people with similiar stats to your’s and they got in.

I applied early action and got a response within 4 days. The sooner you apply, regular or early, the sooner you will get a response. (90% of the time!)

So I SHOULD apply for early action? I’m going to start on my application as soon as it’s available. I’m going to retake the SAT, and I should get my scores by the end of October (by then I should of sent everything except my scores)

May I ask what were your stats?

I’m just beyond worried; I really want to get into Rutgers.

You only have your final grades for grades 9-11 so yes, rutgers only sees your 9-11 grades in the admittance process. But you should be aware that your senior year grades are automatically sent to rutgers at the end of the school year.w

early action is non-binding i recall from when i applied. I don’t even think i was doing early action. I just sent my application in around first week of october and was accepted 1.5 weeks later.

I am retaking the SAT in October however I would like to see my scores before I send them. I don’t want to choose the send scores option while signing up for the SAT. So can I send my scores on the day they are released and make it in time before the early action deadline?

Generally, schools give you one to two weeks of lag time to make sure your scores and transcripts are all sent. Just call someone at rutgers to confirm if this is okay.

4.1/4.6 UW GPA
3.6/4.0 W GPA
My school doesnt rank, they do deciles, and I was in the highest, so the top 10%
I had a lot of extra curriculars, sports, some volunteering

I think your stats looks good and you should be able to get in. Again, it really depends on what school. The pharm and nursing school are more competitive so your chances might be slim there. If you have time I suggest you retake either the SATs or ACTs.

@ohtacos… If you submit your application by November 1, you have until mid-November to submit the rest of your credentials to be considered for early action. You might as well choose the send scores option because even if your score is lower than your previous score, it will not hurt your chances of admission and it will give you a better chance of completing your file by mid-November (instead of waiting for your scores to be available before sending them). Remember, we will always combine your best individual math, critical reading, and writing scores from multiple test administrations. When applying, there is a section where you can indicate a planned SAT date.
