Chance me for Newhouse ED

I’m currently debating whether my chances of getting into Newhouse as a Public Relations major would be better if I apply through HEOP or Early Decision. As of right now, I’m leaning towards ED, but please give me your input.

Little scared of getting rejected just because of how average my academics are, but let me know what you guys think

It’s not clear to me if Syracuse meets full need for the students they admit thru HEOP, do you know @sybbie719?

Have you run Syracuse’s net price calculator to see if it would be affordable if you apply via ED and not HEOP? If not, do that ASAP and let us know if the estimated cost the NPC gives you is affordable for you family: Net Price Calculator

Your rank of 109 is out of approximately how many students?

Syracuse does not meet 100% of demonstrated need through HEOP. People have the misconception that EOP means free. You will get a very favorable package OP will still have to come out of pocket.

One of the schools that I work with has consistently sent students to Syracuse HEOP. The things they all had in common were: High GPA and rankings 90+, top 5% of the class, they were graduating with advanced regents diplomas, they had all taken college courses through either college now or national equity lab or some of the other colleges that their school were partnered with. I have also noticed that the pool is becoming more competitive each year.

Because of the limited number of spots, Syracuse does not award HEOP through the ED cycle. If you are HEOP eligible, it may not be an affordable option during the ED cycle.

Side note: The NYC DOE takes HIPPA and FERPA very seriously (I would be very careful as to how I phrased the running of the clinic at your school.
