<p>Hey everyone, I am an Asian student attending an international school. My intended major is economics. Im applying to northwestern, tufts (I know these two are pretty much reaches), nyu, and gwu. What do you think are my chances for these schools? Thanks in advance! </p>

<p>Stats:
- gpa: 3.76w ( it is pretty low because I didn't do too well freshmen year, but I've been on an upward trend since then)
- act: 32
- Toefl: 117/120 (English test required for international students </p>

<p>Classes: full ib student
- HL: English, chemistry, economics
- SL: math, Spanish, psychology (6)
- predicted: 39-40/45</p>

<p>Ecs:
- varsity baseball (3 years)
- varsity basketball (3 years)
- various service clubs with some leadership positions (200 hours of service total)
- MUN (2 years)</p>

<ul>
<li>2 summer internships</li>
<li>organized an independent service trip, helping/ staying a rural school for 2 weeks</li>
</ul>

<p>Your ECs are a bit low but my friend just got in ED, he was in the top 15 of our class with barely any ECs so it’s not really that important in my opinion. I think your 32 ACT is perfect for northwestern. It looks like you have a great chance. Good luck! <p>I think you have a good shot at GW. My friend got in last year with a 3.8 GPA, which is practically similar to yours. Also, she was only involved in two EC’s. Your ACT score is pretty good :slight_smile: Chance me back?

<p>NYU and GW probably in. Other schools are reaches, but still plausible. Good luck!</p>

<p>I think you’re in BU for sure, UCLA is a low reach and so is USC.</p>

<p>USC, UCLA, NW and Tufts will be reachy but NYU and GW you’re on target for. Add some safeties.</p>

<p>Not sure how you think you’re gonna get a 40 on the IB, that is seriously like near impossible :P</p>

<p>Anyway, I think you should consider Northwestern a high reach, and UCLA/NYU/Tufts low reaches. The others are pretty confident.</p>

Well it’s not my prediction, at my school all the ib teachers predict what they’re students at the end of first semester senior year. N I got predicted a 39-40 by my teachers.</p>

<p>Your GPA is low for Northwestern and Tufts and your ACT doesn’t really make up for it.</p>

<p>Also it seems like the general consensus on this thread is that my ecs are a little bit lacking, I was wondering if it appears that way simply because I didn’t list all of them? So here is a more complete list of my ecs</p>

<p>Habitat for humanity club (3yrs) - helped organize and participated in 5 builds
Adopt a school club (2yrs) - treasurer both years
Special kids Olympics (2yrs) - event coordinator both years
Operation smile (2yrs)
During the summer I organized an independent trip to a stay and teach at a rural school for 3 weeks
Had 2 different summer internships lasting 3 weeks each</p>

<p>Varsity basketball 2 years
Varsity baseball 3 years</p>
